  5. From what I have found you can mix mineral oils of different viscosity to either thicken or thin them same as fork oil for bikes with no detrimental effects.
  6. Axminster do adaptors, you could probably fit one of those and find something with a more common thread that would suit your purpose.

  17. In the first picture it looks like there is only one wire connected to your kill switch so it can't be doing anything. It looks like the other wire has melted at some time so someone has tried bodging it. The ring should probably go under the stud holding the coil. Get a new piece of wire made up with a ring on one end and a spade on the other and route it away from hot bits

  20. You'd probably have been better off taking the cat out of the old exhaust and refitting it. It's the heat from the cat causing the problem, that's how they work but if it's destroying the saw cover it's bad design. A metal casing would be the obvious cure but more clearance would probably help.

    Wood ash

    We put the ash from the wood burner into the compost bin as it is supposed to be a good source of potash.
  22. Makita get decent reviews as well, they are all pretty similar in design.
