  1. When the change to unleaded was in progress the car I had ran like a bag of nails till I changed the spark retard valve in the vacuum pipe to the distributor and retarded the static timing another 4°.
  2. You could run the exhaust through the front handle and turn the saw into XPG
  3. You'd need some way to gear your grinder down to the 540 rpm that chipper says is it's maximum. Looking at the build quality it does look a bit "El Bonco manufacturing" I think I would steer well clear.
  4. I've read it's better if you put them in an old car tyre. Geordie temperature chart here for you. GEORDIE TEMPERATURE CONVERSION CHART 25degC: Italians wear coats, gloves and woolly hats. Newcastle United win the Premiership.
  5. Takes longer than 10 minutes to get the rubber to stay on the screen while you get the string round it and lift it into place I always find
  6. Good to hear you are getting sorted. My brother in law ran a groundwork business and had so many Stihl saws and whacker plates stolen it was cheaper to replace them than pay the increased premium for claiming so he stopped paying and stood to it but it was a big hit when he had his mini digger stolen.
  7. Don't bother with second hand electric unless you have good provenance for the batteries and charger.
  8. There's a bloke on gumtree who is selling a saw and he says he has Danarm spares, you could try him. He sells spares for a few different makes of vintage saw by the sound of it.
  9. What is the difference running a smaller bar on 3/8" chain or .325 ? Some of the 60cc+ saws I've read about seem to offer either alternative.
  10. 20mph wind and rain and about 10°c here, it feels colder though.
  11. I don't see where this is going sorry, I haven't said anything bad about the company just that they were expensive for a single diaphragm and I went elsewhere I'll try not to say anything that can be misconstrued in future.
  12. Walbro like I said in the first post, it was a couple of years ago now. He was pleasant enough on the phone when I declined to buy and I would buy from them if I needed anything obscure or in a hurry.
  13. Segway prototype was my guess
  14. It's easy enough to understand, I spoke to a man on the phone and asked about parts for the Dynamac carb, he told me how much for the diaphragm alone and I declined because I could get a complete carb overhaul kit for about a third of the price. If I was stuck for the part or needed them in a hurry I would buy but I wasn't so I opted to go elsewhere.

    Re Edit

That's why he's getting a new one for Christmas Nice vid.
  16. Or chogolate ?
  17. I contacted them easily enough but I thought they were expensive. They wanted over £10 plus postage for a diaphragm when a complete kit from ebay was under £4 post free. That was for a Walbro on my old Dynamac. A friend of mine bought a complete Zama carb for his 039 from an ebay seller for around £20 delivered.
  18. Just finished fitting a new exhaust to my daughter's Corsa. We got wet
  19. That will spread them about nicely
  20. It crops up in these areas as pleasing to the eye not efficient, it also crops up in supermodels and animals. Physics follows different rules. If something is aesthetically pleasing doesn't mean it will work. Da Vinci drew some nice machines but they would not fly. I thought it was "it it looks right then it probably is right"
  21. The golden ratio is only something about what works in nature or is pleasing to the eye not what is efficient in mechanics.
  22. I've never used a cut off saw and thought "this ought to be making more noise and dust, I'll see what I can do" The 12" discs are only rated to about 6000rpm as well so not really a fruitful exercise making the saw outpace them.
  23. It's usually the socks where I have trouble
  24. You can melt Lego in acetone to make repair paste but it is for ABS plastic so you need to know what the saw is made of. [ame] [/ame]
  25. Or even new for old Will it be covered on your vehicle policy, your household policy or do you have equipment cover ?
