Hi Steve, Best bet with regard to Pressvess is talk to the designer of all of their retorts - Nick Harris at Four Seasons Fuels, what he doesn't know about retorts and charcoal couldn't be written down on a nanobots knee. I talked budgets with Nick and then decided on the Specification I wanted. Build time is about 12 - 14 weeks, depending on the spec, size etc. I decided that for me, a single barrel retort was the best way forward to start - and if demand is there, I can upgrade to a double barrel retort later. This was the retort at Christmas, just before the holiday shutdown.. Matt

I had a husky outfront mower 10 yrs ago - piece of cr*p. Bought a Kubota F3060 & F3660 instead, both with trimax flail decks. Never looked back until 2 years ago when the business changed direction and we bought an Irus Deltrak

I've used one - it's ok for lightweight stuff. But for series bramble bashing you need hydraulic drive, hammer or delta flails and about 30hp.... I own one of these now.....

Look for Local Area Groups or LAGS - they distribute European RDPE grant funds. We were awarded a 40% grant last November towards a project. Leave the "grant companies" alone.

Don't know anything about the Spider RC mower, but I have an Irus Deltrak which is far superior as it's tracked and has a HD flail deck.. doesn't need a winch to get up slopes like the Spider Mowers do....

LR Defender 130, put air assist springs on the back, so you can alter the ride depending on whether the tipper is empty or loaded / towing. It will hold its value better than a Japanese 4x4, and parts / servicing are more readily available and in some cases cheaper. A Defender is true mechano kit. And the still the Best4x4xfar with the best payload of them all......

Used to work for a company in the 90's that charged £150 + VAT min call-out, which inc 2 diameter ft, then every additional ft was £12.50 + VAT, travel round trip @ £1 + VAT / mile.

As a Grown in Britain assured woodfuel producer/trader, I sell Verdo woodfuel pellets but only by the full pallet. Used to sell partial pallets and multiples of 10 but it proved uneconomical.

Equestrian pellets contain more dust / fines that woodfuel pellets DONT USE

Don't forget about adding weight as well. KMR Engineering in Suffolk make a great Aluminium tipper with 3 stage ram, even make a 3-way tipper. Mine cost £2400 & has now been on 2 different 130's

Been using Silky saws since their introduction in the early 90's. When Midland Tree Surgeons started stocking the innovative Original Sky Harness from Swensk Tradvard of Sweden. Best thing since sliced bread.

I am a producer/trader on BSL for both firewood and WoodFuel pellets (in addition to other Woodfuel accreditations) As I have a number of RHI customers, who purchase both pellets and firewood, I will be continuing with the BSL scheme.

Years ago at a national arb day, the boss of Midland Tree Surgeons - Robert Kennedy, was doing a piece to camera (local tv). Standing next to and (unfortunately in) coils of climbing & lowering ropes, saws etc. One of the demo gangs close by was feeding brush into a chipper... Suddenly in a scene out of horror film, rope was caught into the chipper and in a split second Robert Kennedy's leg transformed into a corkscrew! Luckily his leg was saved but he has scars to scare the kids.
