Hi guys I have had a few goes at a chain made a very small one first just to see how it all worked you have to start with a + shape that runs down the log hard to meet up all the cuts in all the vids ive seen they dont show much of that bit planning on having another go soon good luck if you try it Cheers Mark

Hi Bofh I am just in the process of doing what you want to do a few of us managed to rent an old farm building and yard ,I do Chainsaw carving / milling and make just about anything the customer wants we also have a stained glass artist (my girlfriend) and a welder so we can do all sorts of stuff sharing the rent means we get more space cheeper so if you can find some other like minded people the skys the limit but its f*****g hard work 7 days a week since last agust but people are slowly starting to know we are there and work is coming in you are more than welcome to come and see what we have going on if you are i north dorset just ring me 07449 736569 .Good luck GO FOR IT if you dont you may well end up thinking what if and that is no way to go you cant live a life of what ifs Cheers Mark

Bloody hell guys I have been finding these horrible critters for quite a few yrs now I gave one to a pest control company and they told me it was death watch beetle but those pics are defo what I have been finding especially in Oak but only in already felled timber next time I find one I will send it off for sure I found some in a Walnut tree that I was planking as well I am in north dorset and have found loads of them Thanks for the info ,I always kill all the buggers I find .   10. Surely he knew you were self-employed when he contracted you to do the work, it's you doing the work not him so you should have every right to advertise the fact. He could have mentioned it was an issue before you had it done. Check out where you stand by ringing the self-employed advice line? if you need the work and don't want to piss him off just hang a tarp down the side of your truck when on site with him.
  11. Hi guys with prices like they have you cant go wrong as long as they do what is says on the box has anyone on hear used one ? I am waiting for salesman to ring me so much cheeper than a mizer and you couls always knock up a trailer to put it on so towable looking forward to talking to salesman will keep you all posted Cheers mark

  14. Hi you really need a dust mask a 3m one would be ok but an airshield one would be ace but a bit bulky as it is a helmet the boss at one of our local wood yards developed emphesema not sure on spelling but lung disease not good wear a MASK when in a dusty enviroment Cheers Mark

Hi Coletti I like carving beech ,elm ,oak but they can vary so much I had a small but of spalted beech I started a bear but it was so f------ hard my saw was struggling to cut it so I just sent it to the firewood pile yew is a nice wood to carve but can get quite bitty unless your chain is propper sharp hope this is some help but in the end its just what wood you like best yourself good luck Cheers Mark

Hi I had a cortisone injection a few yrs back and the next morning I cuold hardly tie my boot laces but after a few days pain went away and was ok my doctor advised me to massage the muscle with first 2 fingers on top of my arm and thumb underneath and this also helped alot and i still massage when it plays me up good luck as it hurts like f--- hope you mend soon cheers Mark
