Hi , I am sure that you can set the depth of cut on the vertical mill so , I would do my first cut remove the ladder set depth on vertical , set width one cut set width and so on across the log , then set height on alaskan and away to go , 4/5 beams , the width setting every time is a bit of a faf but hey , chainsaw milling there is quite a bit of faf , good luck post some pics Cheers Mark

Hi , as with all tools you get what you pay for , you may be lucky and get a good buy from ebay but I think with a carving bar and chain and sprocket you would be looking at £200/250, and the saw could go wrong after 3 weeks or just over £300 is what I paid for a new echo and carving bar and I know its going to last me yrs and yrs talk to Rob D on hear he will set you up with a good deal good luck with your carving Cheers Mark
