    Tpo area

I have also dealt with area tpo's made back in the 70's & some contain a covenant whereby any future trees that grow within the area are covered. As said, speak to the tree officer, don't risk it.
  2. I would imagine you could claim if your phone line is a business line & not domestic. I tried to claim once as I use mine for both & was told I could not claim loss of potential earnings as it is a domestic phone line. I would contact your neighbour & the contractor & ask what they are doing about it.

    Sketchy job!

All the other issues you have stated aside, climbing without rescue back up is a no no. Explain your concerns & if he is not willing to take on board & make the job safer & deal with the phone lines then walk away. Will he expect you to fork out if anything get damaged?
  4. I'm with you on this one, I was cutting up firewood yesterday, processing sycamore branches of around 6 inches thick which had been stacked under cover for around 2 years & still reading 32% moisture.

    Which Sthil

A 441 is a good mid range saw that will cover all bases.
  6. I've read good reviews on Cooper Discoverer STT's. Slightly cheaper than BF's, thinking of putting them on my PS10 for winter.

    Tiny 4x4, or ?

I may be wrong but I think you are confusing LR's input with Suzuki with Santana who used to make LR's under licence, fell out with LR & produced their own 4x4. Suzuki took over Santana for a while & where producing Suzuki's from their production line in Spain. This was what I found out when I was looking at buying a PS10, then I found one & bought it.
  8. You are most welcome, let me know when you want some more. Look like they are doing the job.
  9. Please don't use diesel, as said before, concentrated roundup, or loads of table salt.
  10. This thread really has got the cat among the pidgeons.
  11. Hi there, I have quite a few large diameter poplar if you are interested. I'm about an hour from you. I won't be able to deliver but you are more than welcome to collect. I'll send you the measurements tomorrow.
  12. I didn't mention anything about being over weight & the complications associated so not quite sure why you quoted my post. There are ways of running a smaller vehicle without being overweight, you just have to be smart about it.
  13. Some have little choice but to use 3.5 tonners as it is costly to obtain ops licence & maintain a larger vehicle. Then with ops licence you need a suitable yard to keep the vehicle preferably in your work area. Then there is the extra catagories on your licence etc. The list goes on & so does the cost.
  14. Off to look at it. mmm I think you bought it mate. You won the bid based on the pictures & the description so you have entered into a contract.
  15. One thing that astounds me is the countries where food is scarce & living conditions are poor yet they feel the need to keep reproducing. Religion has a massive part to play in reproduction of the human race as many do not believe in contraception. I have never felt need to have children & to be honest I don't really like them, (nothing personal if you have children) but can understand it must be the most amazing feelings to have one. If the people of the world are struggling now imagine what it would be like in another 100 years which isn't too far way. History dictates that the dominant species on the planet will eventually meet their demise whether its medical resistant diseases or starvation that eradicates the human race. I personally would not want to bring a child into this world when it is so broken with no sign of it ever being fixed. The human race seems hell bent on destroying theirselves & the planet with them. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
  16. Another tip is to manage the climbers rope so as it does not get snagged or when lowering it is well out of the way.
  17. I've had a halfords set for over ten years now & an array of clark tools, both good quality & nicely priced.
  18. Hi Paul, glad to hear things are moving in the right direction with your mums dog. In respect of dogs in cars on a hot day is a no no unless you have air con & can leave the car running while you do your surveys etc. Even on a cloudy day the temp in a car can be too much for a dog. Imagine wearing a fur coat in summer. Regards Darren
  19. For a small company thats a lot of money to lose. I would fight it, after all they changed the spec. Its always exciting when you get the call that you've won a large job but they come with their problems. I have had similar problems in the past with small construction firms so these days I don't take them on. Keep fighting on & I hope you get the monies owed to you. Regards Darren

    Family cars

I would highly recommend a Chrysler Grand Voyager. They are the cheapest MPV out there with more room than you will ever need. Ours came with climate control, lecky heated mirrors, auxillary heating for cold mornings, dvd player, all rear seats fold down in the floor, electric & heated front seats, airbags everywhere, lecky side opening doors & boot, parking sensors, super comfy on long journeys the list is endless. We are on our second one now. MPG not bad, average around 36 around town, about 45-50 on the motorway. If you decide on a Voyager make sure it has full service history & that the belts & pulleys & tensioners have been changed. They need changing after 8 years or 100,000 miles which ever comes first, if one of the belts break the engine will destroy itself. They also have power points all over the car which is handy if you are into camping or fishing.
  21. This is my little set up. Bought it as a pick up a few months back & managed to find a secondhand canopy in the same colour.
  22. Thats a nice looking bench, good job. I always like the way timber splits, it adds character.
  23. Unfortunate but rules are rules. Patience is a virtue.
  24. Like them or hate them Apple have the better security, unlike android or microsoft you don't need to purchase extra security. Never been compromised with Apple, microsoft on the other hand.
