  9. be there 7th december come over say hello re hedge after clearing all the dead out as it was laid before. root stock which re pleached other was just wiskars. Matt pleached a cracking thorn two joined together 20 ft tall pleached one then the other and down they both came cleaned it up and put on top of other pleaches. those who came to see how it was done looked open mouth that we was going to lay it but it worked. jaspers got a bit touchy at end stayed away poxy things. had a hot stew in viking longhouse for lunch. interesting place. good day and thanks matt for help
  10. SOE same as midland 18 inches apart or elbow to clenched fist so 10mtrs would need approx 20 stakes same with binders binder per stake. and hazel for stakes and if they can get it willow is good for binders weaves nice. use willow for stakes it can grow not much good if rest of hedge is native mix.
  11. +2 to all thats been posted and learn from those you work with. and ask do not go in and dig a hole you can not get out of as for college learn and get your papers but learning on the job is worth triple what they will teach you at college. work hard ,never late leave phone in bag. and will not go far wrong. good luck trust you have years of enjoyment and learning. what more can you ask outdoors all the time keeping fit. and a good tan even in winter saves going abroad for a top up:thumbup:
  12. double cabs ok but leg room in back is limited i have got in back of mine and its a job as such and not much leg room but you can take 4 people and still a good spacein back. if it was me would go for hilux bomb proof can be expensive on bits from dealers but can get most bits for any truck from auto factors or scrapyards if you see a d22 navara and a yd25 engine unless engine has been changed stear a wide berth if it has been changed then a good truck. but its only the yd25 engine thats the problem
  13. if you have the gear and a shed see if you can get timber. how much then work out how long it will take to do a artic load you can hire processors so makes it quicker. and if around you its selling for 6o to 70 a cube then see if you can do it for that and make a profit from it. had someone asking for a load of logs quoted £60 for pickup said she had been offered a load for £50 said then get it but my wood is dry and under cover. and i think £60 ia cheap but thats seems to be norm £60 to £70 a pick up laod so never get £90 a load
  14. forest and arb take all old chains and any money they get in scrap is given to hants and iow air ambulance. must find out how much they have raised but good use of knackered chains
  15. agree on what you say. if they saw you just as you where landing fish and you put it back then agree but if said fish is dead next to you then commited a offence as for weed they can do you for damage to private property as weed belongs to riperian owner. yet to see it happen.
  16. secatures then felco with the rotating handle will not get any better loppers anvil blade sthil are good or if you see them in lidles buy a pair £10 and best ones ihave used. and a pair of parrot beak ideal where the anvil will not go in forks spades hoes stainless is best bulldog do good ones
  17. have you had problems with it before. and is it the same fault. if its been playing up since new even thought its out of warrenty under sale of goods act 1979 it has to be of a resonable quality. sounds like your one is not. say to dealer you want it sorted out a they fix it repplace truck or refund less miles done so you can get something else do not let them get away with it
  18. i have a ghillie kettle better than the kely in that it has a metal cap which whistles when boiling. draw back with all of them is when its blowing a gale to get it to light once going will burn ok my one will boil 5 cups in a couple of mins can cook on it and can put it on a fire if you want to. being on my own i find it a bit of a faff getting it going when i could be working. looking at gettinga stainless steel washing machine drum and using that for kettle and cooking Dorset has one and works well plus you can keep warm from it and it cost next to nothing from the dump
  19. try BFF under classics lots on there who have these and the like should be able to get a proper price or it. other farm sale to try and nearer to you and that southern farm sales at shaftesbury so near to poole ferrys huge sale like chefins and have loads of tractors being sold

good work but why would they not let it in the harbour. there it can be fixed a beach if it turns nasty could be wrecked or taken out to sea and could be seen as a vessel in distress and waste your time going out to investigate.
  21. all land is owned by someone even if its public its managed by someone, common land is for use of commoners who have it in there deads that they can use the common land for grazing etc angling and the law. if you fish from a public bridge. and your line is in the water you can be prosecuted if found with weed or fish in your possession. if your line snags the weed the weed id part of the river bed which is the property of the riparian owner, same for fish belong to the owner so by taken them even from a public place you are committing a offence of stealing.
  22. grandson had one used it so much it fell to bit in end. allways looked to se if a proper one that small could be made ideal for doing little jobs. only need a model aircraft engine in it.
  23. re timber being nicked simple buy a smartwater pen mark the end of logs eg cross watch them take logs bound to cut ends off and take to car take reg phone the countrywatch team and they will get nicked as your dna postcode will be on timber. will not have a leg to stand on in court. needs stopping or they will just carry on as if its ok
  24. heard of a lorry driver. car pulled up along side young lady was in the all together he looked she beckoned him to follow which he did got to a layby. was done over and lorry was nicked with cargo inside.
