  1. Muury Mcclean Abigdon oxfordshire does very good plants. hawthorn balckthorn burging buckthorn and robina. can get plants 90cm to 120cm so will be tallish but will need spirals and canes to protect from deer and rabbits and a good barrier plant 5 to the mtr staggered row. also what you can do is whilst they are growing make a dead hedge in front stake every 18inches front and back fill with brash ideal if you can get some thorn from a laid hedge bind tops with wips one good hedge until the real one has grown and a ideal wildlife haven
  2. well the Yeti is good has a audi engine in it. or the roomster scout i bang on about the roomster but what a car trucks off road at present. customer needed logs loaded it up with a builders bag of logs and off i went with all seats in. they have so much room good on fuel will do easy 60mpg. and later ones now in lower emission bracket so cheaper to tax. so if it was me roomster or yeti

  4. thanks very much thats it have to save up and get one. not a bad price was thinking they would be around that sort of money. but its hidden until its needed.
  5. if i sell logs its cash on delivery. i know my customers so know they will pay up when delivered same for collection since when is logs on account. have the readys ready and pay up or clear off and find your own logs. do not blame you those types are worth not having. when he is cold and no logs may come to his senses and have the cash to pay for his logs. whoever wants to sell him logs. but he is not worth having as a customer. as you said you have sold them
  6. bit strange as most pickups can take a ton in back and i have bf goodrich at2 fitted. so why can you not fit to one of these unless it something to do with the way it is set up and off roads could make it not to clever on the road.
  7. well they wanted £3750 plus vat for pump the truck is not worth that her number plate is worth moe than truck but its in good nick for a 02 a joke she has taken it to lucas who are going to take off and refurbish it so it will be new. for a lot less. wanted to charge me £250 for a lock unit how can they justify these prices when majority of it is made in the far east talk about ripping off there customers. i got a new lock in the end from local scrap yard for £35.
  8. still cold all replys:biggrin:
  9. friend has a nissan navara d22 like mine fuel pump went needed it asap so had it towed to main nissan dealer. how much do you think they wanted to do job. i wait and see if anyone gets near price also asked them for a locking door mech for mine again how much. needless to say we did not take them up on there quote
  10. did say they hire gear but stock makita and dolmar saws
  11. surveys i have seen done they have tagged each tree with little plate and nails and marked the ones that need work with spray paint. have to say what i have heard they charge for there time. then for those who follow to do work they should be doing there job. £65 per hour i was informed one was charging for his work. one site i work on costing 2k for survey of trees. good money if you can get it.
  12. looking to get a winch for nissan d22 saw one on a disco the other day which was mounted in the bumper looked very neat and out of way can it be done on my nissan and is it a expensive job just be good to have one just in case. looked at mounting it on a plate at front but looks a eyesore and ideal for the light finger brigade to take off if in view. any help or suggestions thank you
  13. as its there tenant who has made your fence fall down then there responsibility to make good work out how much it will cost to do job, send them the bill with the photos you have taken. and get enviromental on case they should be able to swing there sledge at the housing door to get them to make good what she has done. looks a mess.
  14. just got hold of the rep for makita as the local dealers round these parts well do not have a clue on chain saws. he has given me a firm in west sussex King and stevens who do a lot of chain saws and said know there stuff. so may worth giving them a call re any chainsaws.

when the large hovercrafts operated from dover i went with a load on her out to the goodwin sands. took little hover in hold. landed on sands had a ride in the little ones. had the sand dance group doing a turn. had a picnic. if you dug a hole in the sand you became a honorary member of the goodwin sands potholing club and was given a certificate also paid for the tie with the goodwin sands lightship on it that was the last time it was done as they retired the hovercrafts. so keep the tie and wear it when i need to go out with a tie gets people asking what its for.

thats all right then if its only a force 8 or 9 not a 11 like sunday monday. see the barometric pressure for judes was 972 87 was 927 so not as strong. still if out on the sea a gale can still rip up the water if tides running the right way i would not like to be out in it not even on a big ship. round your way with the goodwin sands i bet it kicks up not a nice place to be near in a storm. been on there in good weather. honary member of the goodwin sands potholing club:confused1:
  20. he would be able to do it but what some i know get paid for mowing large contracts they are not that fussed how good a job they do just cut it. yet to see a mower on as good as a climber. most on lot less and seasonal so as soon as grass cutting finished cheerio until next year its using one but its using one and doing a good job thats the difference
  21. not get into a debate is it worth more than climbing trees. i cut grass use a ride on to say anyone can use one is a bit off mark got to know what you are doing with a zero turn ride on when cutting in tight areas same with strimming easy to break a window if not doing it right hence i have a certificate to use one. plus making sure there are no tide marks left when cutting in lines. have to keep mower dead in line just overlapping last cut. more so with a cylinder mower.
  22. i do a contract for a council 14 cuts a year with a 3 year contract with a price increase with inflation every year. its not bad money but only in the growing season. but due to good job been asked to quote for more council work which is larger so will need a larger mower if we are awarded contracts. with the kit you can crack on and get it done as quick as you can but still a good job and move on to next one. my advice for what its worth work out how much you want to charge to do job tender for it if you get it then look for a second hand ride on until you can afford a better one
  23. hi i am left handed when i see you will swap for a couple of pair of welding gloves as a exchange do use my right hand gloved all the time not so much the left hand unless moving brash. so be good stop the other nicking my gloves if all right handed yes no more gloves nicked as all right handed bar me:thumbup: PS well done on second at the nats
