  1. Fitted a flexible liner for our neighbours. All done in a couple of hours but it was a nice wide straight chimney and the pot was in good nick. Think they got the flu liner and cap for £400ish

    Radon .

Yes. We have a radon sump which is just a means to ventilate under the concrete slab. If we were found to have high levels then a fan would be fitted to help draw the gases out from under our place and not let it seep into the building.
  3. Should add the my insurance with Arborisk was for chainsaw use with the processing added on for no extra cost.
  4. Not for milling but got third party cover for firewood processing from Arborisk. Nice to deal with but no idea what would happen if there was a claim.
  5. Never worried about what my Avatar says about me but I am probably as dull as the pic. As for best Avatar I always like tommer9 with this one. Someone used to have a rather lovely lass carrying a rope but think that one is no more.
  6. They look exactly the same as the Lidl ones.
  7. Best month we have ever had but all for our shorter lengths. Going to have to start saying no to new customers or else there will be nothing left for the regulars.
  8. Lets hope the film is better than the theme song
  9. This is a G wagon Jon https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Mercedes+G+wagon&espv=2&biw=1267&bih=661&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0CE0QsARqFQoTCO2Q7-SbmcgCFUTFFAodc_EOrQ My folks had one years back when they were affordable but it had it's problems like everything else. Built like a tank but it failed its first MOT due to some fault on the steering
  10. It's just light when dry so not much energy. Happy to sell it nearer softwood prices
  11. We planted alder and willow around our big bale storage and it dried it out lovely and both species thrived. Neither are great firewood IMO but it all burns.
  12. Mountain biking, windsurfing and an occasional game of badminton. Windsurfing being the best sport ever but the wind is a fickle mistress
  13. There are two ways to approach it or a combination of the two. One is containment where you you would use something like soundproof plasterboard mounted on resilient bars. You need to pay attention to details like door seals and ways sound can leak out. The other is absorption. As I mentioned in the first post R60 rockwool with a mesh cover like this Wire Mesh Fabrications | Acoustic Perforated Mesh On the job I did we installed all the rockwool and it was amazing on its absorption but it all went wrong from there as the guy did not like the idea of the mesh due to dust and a potential fire hazard so we installed the resilient bar and sound block plasterboard over the top. It did the job and complied with the sound reduction requirements but it was so much better when the rockwool was exposed. You can get most of the materials through builders merchants except the mesh.
  14. The higher density rock-wool (R60) works very well but you need to leave it bare or with a mesh to cover. I did a large soundproofing job a few years back so will to find some links for you.
  15. As said work out the volume of the dumper and take it from there. It's gotta be worth some discount over your normal rate. Delivery is considerable part of our costs and being able to do one large bulk load would be great. I would knock off £10 per cube
  16. Any chance of a close up of his adaption
  17. Don't think this is the case Diesel cars: What's all the fuss about? - BBC News Not going to condone what they have done but I believe the US testing is based on output per gallon used but when you consider how inefficient American cars are VWs may well put out less pollution per mile than the US offerings.
  18. I would say go for speed. We have a 17 tonne splitter and it has never failed to split anything yet. Sometimes takes a few goes on say 5% of the worst stuff but the extra speed on other 95% will more than compensate.
  19. This.
  20. Peeing it down which has messed up my morning deliveries:thumbdown:
  21. It catches the hay they pull out and gets a second chance before soaking into the mud. Small holes drilled in the tray to let out any water. Liz wanted to spend £120 on a new feeder but 40 mins and some zip ties and we were sorted.
  22. Great minds and all that This our one for the sheep
  23. Glad it helped you John. If it was not for your help and advice I would not have a logs business
  24. Yep everyone is stocking up now. All kicked off a couple of weeks ago for us.
  25. I thread some 1x1 batterns through the crate and screw the tops onto the ends. Yes they would blow off in no time without fixing down.
