  1. Our little beasty
  2. Jon it works on Dartmoor I am pretty sure it can cope with Somerset rain A bit blows in on the sides when it's windy but drys out fine when the rain is not horizontal.
  3. Get hold of some IBC tanks and make up some stores like these. Cut the inner tank at an angle to make some lids. Each plastic tank will make 2 lids so you could use the spares to cover the logs you have already stacked by putting some screws through the lid into the logs.
  4. Record any program you like the look of and skip the ads or just keep to the beeb
  5. I have the Isuzu but definitely try a Ranger. It's not gutless but the gearing is too high for maneuvering loads on hills without going into low range.
  6. Nearly new single cabs are as rare as hens teeth. Looked for ages and ended up buying new but still haggled off some loose fat.
  7. Yikes. Hope have have been misinformed
  8. Not difficult to do it yourself. Think you need front and side elevations and a plan view. Can't remember the scale but probably easy to find out. Local planning for an agricultural building was £70 a few years back.
  9. Yes well done Steve good effort
  10. Blowing a hoolie here. Gale with storm force gusts not to mention torrential rain. Going to be some damage about.
  11. Are you using more smaller branch material? Had this come up when I was selling a lot of small diameter logs from our hedrow trees, customers said it burnt well but left a lot of ash.
  12. Yes got to work in the rain or be unemployed. It's rained continuously for 3 days and forecast to continue for several more. Got soaked this morning in spite of the waterproofs. Time for a new coat methinks.
  13. Think you will find most folks sell by volume ie m3. 1 m3 of dry hardwood will be around 365kg.
  14. This video looks a good way to do it [ame] [/ame]
  15. Yes they will dry a lot in the winter months. Sure it's not warm but winter tends to be the windy season and this helps no end. If you stack them in alternating directions it will also help airflow. Beech left in the round tends to rot out.
  16. That's the one Steve Thanks
  17. Anyone able to find a video posted some time in the last year? It was a small bowl turning factory making mutiple bowls from each blank. Looked like custom made laths and tools. Think it was in Canada but may be US. Thanks
  18. Yes a bit grimm this morning. Had hoped for better after reading the Met office forcast "There will be occasional showers around but it should be a generally drier day than yesterday. Whilst it will be often rather cloudy, some bright intervals are likely. Maximum Temperature 15°C." Think the showers are holding hands and invited their friends.
  19. Standard practice around these parts. Rather miss it now driving a Dmax. No longer part of the club.
  20. That's a cracker Tom

    Moto GP

Watched the replays. Thought he had physically pushed him off from the headlines but just sort of blocked him into the side while looking straight at him. Not pretty nonetheless. Rossi defended himself claiming Marqueze had been deliberately obstructing him so Lorenzo could increase his lead. Don't watch the whole races these days as those commentators do my head in.
  22. Just got back from a picturesque walk near Peter Tavy.
  23. Going to get some scales so should be able to get a categoric answer to which is heaviest soon.
  24. Wow some great pictures here. Keep them coming
  25. Yep often get asked for sub 8" logs. Apparently some Rayburns only take 8" max. I do a few crates specifically but most are just the ends from doing longer lengths so can be pretty short. Charge the same at present.
