    Prices

Hard to say exactly the ones I have measure would hold 0.6 if they held square but with the amount the bulge it must be a bit more. I would guess 0.7 m3. Think there are different sized builders bags to complicate matters. Price wise we are at £100 m3 for really dry hardwood and £75 for softwood.

It's one helluva big builders bag to hold 1m3 of logs.
  3. Been watching the rainfall radar today and looks like the lakes have had biblical amounts of rain. Talk of 300mm on the hills! Hope things aren't too bad but it don't look good
  4. Yes biscuit jointers are the way forward for speed. Dowels work fine but a pain to make them line up perfectly. If you have a router and don't fancy buying a biscuit jointer cutting a groove and adding a spline would work well.
  5. So do I Got a tussle with HMRC on a totally different matter next and can't see them being a pushover.
  6. Hooray just got paid Seems the "letter before action" did the trick. Only posted it last night and amazingly get a call 08.30 this morning saying I would have payment today followed by a lame excuse. BACS for full amount arrived this afternoon. Anyway thanks for the support on the thread and the PMs Beau
  7. Over 100 days! Think it's due I don't see why I have to put myself out with a long drive to middle of nowhere to confront someone who thinks they can steal from me. The mrs makes the small claims rout sound very straight forward and if it gets that far they are going to be paying interest and the cost of the court plus the invoice. Can't remember all details as the letter before action with it all explained is winging it's way to them now. Will keep this thread updated as it unravels.
  8. Like that
  9. Pretty much what my accountant thinks but they are trying this line at the moment but apparently it's going to be tested in the courts in February. No questions over items bought post Vat registration just on stuff bought prior to it.
  10. Thanks Billy. Not sure what kind of proof they are going to want but if comes to it would you be able to send me some pictures including the plate where date of manufacture is?
  11. Bliming incredible mpg figures Never got more than 30 out of our D max and it averages nearer 25mpg
  12. Got a snag with HMRC having just gone Vat registered. I was of the understanding you can claim back Vat on large items backdated 4 years but they are trying to reduce the claim by saying all the machinery bought in the backdated period has lost a good proportion of its working life and that 60 months is the lifespan of the kit. I need to make the case that the machinery has much longer lifespan but this might be hard to proove. Anyway back to the point I am looking for old Farmi processors still in working order. Will contact Riko next week but thought it worth an ask on here first. Thanks Beau
  13. I would go for £200-£250 but it is hard to gauge the exact amount from a few pics. That would be well above the usual delivered in rates of £50-£60 per tonne but that's based on 18-28 tonne loads. Got to cost more per tonne to deliver small loads. Sure someone more experienced will post up some numbers.
  14. Looks like a couple of tonne. £400 for that is nuts. Infact that would make around 4 cube which would only cost £400 cut split and dried!
  15. Burns fine and dries quickly. Not very heavy so burns fast more like softwood.
  16. Processor scoffs it hence the 20 litre can. Might look into 2x10L ones but can't see how it's much safer.
  17. Yikes! that would have me stressed. Hope you get payment in full.
  18. Think that's what the mrs has planed. Letter before action is ready to go. Just hoped he might see sense and cough up before this rigmarole.
  19. Never knew that. Local Texaco happily lets me fill up a 20 litre container.
  20. No stress. It's only a day's work and the mrs can't wait to get this sorted through legal means. Just a shame that a chap I have worked for several times whom I thought was OK decides he doesn't need to bother paying me. I count my blessing as this is a first and for a small sum. Have read of some horrors in these pages over the years.
  21. It's not exactly next door and frankly I don't like the idea of a confrontation think Ian is probably right.
  22. Never had this problem before so count myself lucky but got my first non payer. Sent several reminders by email, post and phone messages. Not had any form of reply to anything but know they are still about due to facebook posts. Would like to think there is some innocent reason as we have have always got on but it don't look good. Any wise words before I unleash my legally trained mrs on them?
  23. He don't seem to mind
  24. Just heard a Blackbird singing like it's spring! Certainly warm down in the SW this morning.
