  1. What were you doing when you discovered this fact??
  2. You'd lose!
  3. Surely you don't mean Socks Sandals and a Dickie!
  4. Big J, I used to respect you - my world has been shattered. I now question all the little tips and tricks of milling that I have picked up from you. Obviously you know nothing
  5. I think Big J has a contact who takes a lot of poplar
  6. Now that sound terrifyingly familiar, bringing back some nasty memories. FYI. I got my crank from Greece was cheap enough and that's the only cheapo bit thats still running.
  7. Did realise you'd met my missus
  8. OK guys time to help settle an argument. My other half reckons you should put an egg in an egg cup with the pointy end down, however me being a sensible person, I know that this is complete rubbish and that an egg should be blunt end down. What do you think, are you a pointy end down lunatic or a perfectly normal and level headed person who knows instinctively that the only way an egg can go in an egg cup is blunt end down.

    Nexus 7

Anyone here use a Nexus 7 tablet? Mrs has an ipad and I was thinking of getting something similar. Budget doesn't run to another ipad but the new Nexus at £200 with a screen resolution that beats the retena display looks really tempting.
  10. The above 5 posts are the best argument for everybody fully adopting the metric system that I have ever read.
  11. Hot and sunny for 2 days here

    woodturning

3 firsts for me yesterday. 1. got my first scroll chuck 2. decided to make my first goblet 3. thought I'd go the whole hog and do my first captive ring at the same time. From the photo it looks like the finish could be a bit better and I think the ring would look better if it was a bit bigger but fairly happy for a my first time. Any advise welcome
  13. Next time you're speaking to someone from Aspen you might want to tell them to put the bottle size on the website, can't see many buying it if they don't know how much they will be getting
  14. Poor review here http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/arborist-reviews/59823-oregon-fjordland-chainsaw-boots.html
  15. Thanks for that link Tony Looks like that might be recipe number 3 Tried any other good kits?
  16. Just started home brewing, mainly to save having to go to the shops all the time for beer. I drink ale and my O/H drinks lager so we have 2 sets of everything. Did the first brew 4 weeks ago, and another today The lager is Caxtons, seems to be shaping up nicely, will be leaving it another week or so before we start it. For the ale I went for Woodfordes Wherry, first brew seemed a bit wishy washy on early tasting so I'm dry hopping this batch to try and get a hoppier flavour. Again will start drinking properly in about a week or so. Will update this in a few weeks.
  17. :congrats:

    New strimmer

I love the FS55, great little strimmer, does a lot more than you would expect. P.S. Get the cow horn one
  20. They look like Morgans to me, can be a lovely apple. Great crop up here as well, on the pears as well. Only trouble is the pear tree is a good 20' and I'm trying to work out how to pick them, have got a really good 7 meter pole for painting houses, has the standard threaded paint roller end on it. What I'm trying to find is a fruit picking attachment that takes that fitting.
  21. Had one of those on the bench today as well. Was told it suddenly became hard to pull the starter. Turned out he had taken the clutch cover off with the chainbrake on and then forced it back on trapping the brake band against the clutch, result, very hard to start, one knackered chainbrake handle and one knackered brake band.
  22. Good to see you check all your work twice
  23. Remember those from a few years back, glad I didn't buy any then
  24. Hi Jon Wet and fairly windy here, still mild though
  25. Have Chris Gill and Richard Fairbrass every been seen in the same room together?
