  1. I give up
  2. If you read the link that Ty Unnos posted for you then you might have a bit more of an idea as to what you want and how to use it. How much timber are you looking to extract? I see you are looking for a 20-22" saw and are trying to work out how to sell the timber. just a bit worried you may be trying to tackle a big job with diy tools.

    Dog dilema

Now that made me really laugh - quote of the year
  4. Been around up here for 2-3 weeks
  5. I've sourced parts from here in the past, good service and very helpful. Miles Tool & Machinery Centre

    Dog dilema

Excellent diplomacy - nicely done with no feelings hurt
  7. This little nugget of information about the decompressor being on the camshaft helped tremendously today - 13hp Chinese honda copy on a large splitter. A wee bit of rubbish (never did work out what it was) stopping the lever moving. Never would have known to look here if I hadn't read this. Arbtalk helps again - Thanks Barrie
  8. Looks like a good solution to me
  9. The 7d is a great camera, but the lens is where you need to put your money. Get a decent but not necessary great body and then buy some excellent lenses. As to which make, remember that if you want to expand your lens range at anytime there are a lot more secondhand, high quality, Canon and Nikon lenses available. The shot in my avatar was taken with an old Canon 30d but I did have a £4000 canon 500mm f4 lens hanging off the end at the time.
  10. On your map is the timber in the yellow areas? How much timber are you talking about? Photos?
  11. Man Up and tell us what it is Seriously if Barrie recommended it I'm sure it will do you proud.
  12. 500 feet with a hand winch - is this a windup?
  13. Are you going to tell us what you bought or do we have to guess

    Table top

I'm sure someone will be able to help you, it may help to say where abouts you are.
  15. Love the second photo Any idea on the weight of those lumps?

    Real mens toys!

lots of specs here VINTAGE CHAINSAW COLLECTION: SOLO 635(60135)EARLY model. Nice saw, early models were orange/white later ones yellow/black
  17. If that is the same saw as yours it is a performance power PWR33CCCSA (label on saw in picture on ebay listing) sold by B&Q, best of luck getting parts! From the model number I'd guess it's 33cc, new one from B&Q is 37cc and £99.99 so not worth spending too much on yours, would have thought a good secondhand Stihl or Husky is a better use of money.
  18. My brother was asked for proof of PL insurance when he tried to buy a Stihl combi online last year!
  19. Great shots, that really is one ugly lump. Don't you find that pulling the rope at that angle lifts the nose end of the bar over a few feet of cutting?
  20. I'd second this. Go and see Tim Rudkin, a great bloke and does some good deals. He's in South Somerset
  21. How to make a segmented walnut and maple bowl, an impressive bowl but an amazing video! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFFS9PsghCI]Segmented Walnut and Maple Bowl - YouTube[/ame]
  22. Love it
  23. I see what you mean about not being sure whether or not you like it, I can't make my mind up. However I love the craftsmanship in it
  24. I'm the same age as you and that all sounds very familiar Got to go now, only got another 13 minutes before I have to finish my beer!
  25. If both of you are happy with the price then it's about right. If you are worried about getting screwed over then keep on selling it as firewood. Simples!
