  2. Got my 2 through today, these things are great and it's a great cause too I bought this Stihl multitool thingy a few years ago from ebay and it's hardly been used as I can never find it, it's always kicking around in the truck somewhere but I don't have the tidiest truck in the world! Saw these and thought straight away it would be ideal, even better that you can get it in Stihl colours, should be able to find it now

    Husky 61

Hi all Friend of mine is trying to source a brakeband for a Husky 61 One listed on ebay but it is for plastic brake handle only this one has a metal brake handle. Anyone got any ideas of where to get one? Evidently he has tried L&S Engineers & Mr Solutions and they are both saying it's unavailable.
  8. That's an excellent present! How did you join the letters together? Just glued or pined as well
  9. Just ordered winch, pulley and rope to get this set up on my mill. Rob, what are the vibes like on the winch handle? Wondered about fitting foam handlebar grips over the handle to reduce vibes. Something like this 2pcs Bicycle Cycle Bike MTB Smooth/Rough Tube Sponge Foam Rubber Handlebar Grips | eBay
  10. Emailed Bill this morning, ordered 2 and he made them this afternoon, he just emailed me this pic of them. Got a plan for the orange and white one
  11. Great idea, email sent
  12. As I said above I got a secondhand FS400, bought it from Harrythecat, thanks for the recommendation. Gave him a ring and had a good chat, nice bloke and very straight to deal with. The machine turned up this morning 2 days after I ordered it which to here is very good, if I had been on the mainland I would have had it yesterday. Great looking machine, it is in fact in better nick than I was expecting. Did the first job with it today ran like a dream, earning me money already. All in all a good purchase and a great bloke to deal with.
  13. Thanks for all the replies Got a secondhand FS400 arriving in the morning, will have a play tomorrow and let you all know how it goes.
  14. Here you go http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/milling-forum/51366-how-build-diy-timber-drying-kiln.html Big J's your man to quiz Sounds like a good idea to me if you can run a couple of rads into the kiln
  15. Damn it! Coffee on the keyboard again :laugh1:
  16. I can confirm that chilli will very be a very effective deterent and make any dog think twice about chewing something similar again. Used to be a shepherd and had a dog that would eat my sandwiches if she ever got the chance. Once she did it 4 days in a row, on the 5th day "my sandwiches" contained chilli powder and cayenne pepper. After that day I could leave any food lying around and she definitely wouldn't touch it! Should say now that after letting the dog have a really good drink she showed now ill effects at all, but it was quite funny watching a dog trying to spit
  17. As you're in Somerset get yourself to Yandle's in Martock or Axminster Power Tools, both have a good range and the guys in both places will give you some sound advice.
  18. I would have expected this to have been replaced before now (not just repaired) Seriously bad service
  19. Anyone got experience of the FS450?
  20. Thanks for all the replies Looks like something in the 40-45cc range is about right then. I've done a few figures and still can't see how I can justify a new one so it's looking like my ebay account is going to get busy. Had a look last night and the larger Huskys are in short supply on there but plenty of FS400's so looking more like one of them. Not dismissing the Echo either but again there is a limited number available on ebay. Not convinced about the Honda, I've used one in the past and it worked fine but I just don't see the point of a 4 stroke, more to go wrong and the weight is an issue. Also I usually have plenty of 2 stroke fuel mixed up so fuel is never going to be an problem. Big T, I love the little FS55 an if I was only clearing a patch of 100 meters then I wouldn't be changing but last summer I did just over an acre with it in one job and there's more than that to do this year so I think it's time to change.
  21. I've got a Stihl FS55 (27cc) and it's a great little tool for grass and light clearing work but I'm getting more heavy clearing nowadays, brambles, bracken etc. What size machine do people recommend for this sort of work, will be looking to fit a mulching blade. Can't afford to spend a fortune on this as this work is only a small part of what I do so may go secondhand if I can find a good one.
  22. Aspen opening devise?
  23. No shortage of pollinators here, including lots of queen wasps, up to 8 in doors by the end of each day. Had to take out 3 small nests in a shed the other day.
  24. Excellent - but maybe you should find yourself a nice quiet hobby like stamp collecting or something
  25. I was reading your splitter thread last night I thought you sounded a lot better, almost as if a different person was writing the thread from the one that started this one. What ever you are doing seems to be helping a bit so keep it up I wish you well.
