  1. Great fix Barrie, I'm a great believer in 'put it on the shelf something will turn up' Mind you I do seem to run out of shelf space regularly
  2. That all looks horribly familiar!
  3. Not rained here for a week, has been really sunny but gone a bit overcast today. Still dry though!
  4. Just googled it as I hadn't heard of it before and it looks like it was scraped last month when UK coal went into receivership. Going to be tough on any pensioners who have there winter budgets worked out expecting to get it.
  5. You may want to get a new map:D
  6. Probably better company than some of the lads I've worked with.
  7. Out of interest what figures did you use to get to £12.50 per tonne costs. As in how many tons burnt to give one ton of dried logs and what cost per ton did you use in your calculations?
  8. Got given a large lump of yew that had been sat in the back of a tree surgeons shed for a few years. First bowl I made from it went straight round to him, saw him again the other day and got presented with a good sized piece of walnut. What goes around comes around.
  9. Stone circle 2 fields away
  10. Really no expert so happy to be corrected but I think its crab apple
  11. Take the exhaust off - plenty of access then.
  12. Excellent, love that
  13. Used to have a Canon 500 f4 for wildlife work, still kind of regret selling it but wasn't really using it much and I couldn't justify £4000+ sat in the cupboard. Mind you the house contents insurance dropped loads after I sold it!
  14. Wow, that's some really fast glass, stunningly sharp as well by all accounts. Looking forward to seeing the results.
  15. Mulching blade on strimmer, easy.
  16. Love that. You need to send a photo of that to top gear.

    Sick Yew

Looking for some advice on this yew. According to the owners it has been getting progressively worse for at least 8 years and has now got to the stage where they want it out. It looks to me as if it is recovering a little at the base but I have been informed that it has always been this way. The owners would like to replace this with an Irish yew to match 2 on the other side of the property but are concerned the new tree may suffer in the same way. Anyone got any ideas what's up? And would you recommend replanting?
  18. I got it 3 weeks ago for my nexus 7, works really well. Try to use the main site on the 7"screen was a little annoying.
  19. Only on the first 3 days of the course, would have to run the last 2 and on the assessment day.
  20. Not sure, came in a collection fro an eBay seller. Just ordered our seeds for next year, gone for black naga, other highlights include butch t, bhut jolokia ghost and Thai dragon. Also ordered 'ring of fire' just because the name made me laugh.
  21. Last nights meal, homemade Thai curry using all homegrown chillies including our first naga. Was a little warming!!
  22. A bit off topic but the other day I was working with a youth who when agreeing with something I'd said kept using the phrase 'true that'. Now being an old git this was starting to grate a little so, jokingly I told him to stop it as it was really annoying. He went up in my estimation a lot by turning to me and saying 'true that'
  23. The best - either the Jam in 1982 or Drunk in Public (the levellers) at a tiny gig at Bridport football club sometime in the early 90's. Biggest disappointment - Chilli Peppers at V, just dreadful.
  24. Read this http://www.thinkdefence.co.uk/2012/02/springer-when-uors-go-bad/ I just did and don't think I'd want one if you paid me
