No. The chain pushes to one side and the bar doesnt follow it properly and sort of wedges/grips a ledge made in the cut. Its very annoying using saws with worn bars. And yes, it wont cut straight either

It will be purely for saving chains when milling. The scuba ones look handier for living in the truck. Thanks for tips

Well i gone and bought one. Found one for 220quid new. I have about 125m2 of old floorboards to sand and no power supply other than a genny so even if it halfs the amount the genny is on ( will switch to 230v one when a done in 6x 5ah batteries and charge these) thatll work for me. Will let you know how i get on with it

Thissun Sounds like some of they worn out bars might have a bit life left in them for you which is good news

File file works, oil stone very good at it, oregon do a right angle file jig thing which works. Been really living using an oil stone actually works real good. There is a great vid somewhere of a carving chatting about bar dressing. Ill see if i can find it

Yah, ended up on the scales at council tip a while back, empty my truck with an arsnel of saws and rigging kit etc left a very small payload if any

Yeah i have a wee bosch 4" which eats batteries, but was hoping these new makita 36v brushless motors might be a bit kinder. Which they would be if as good as the 36v saws

For what its worth im with 5shires on price. But thats just based ona couple pics eh. Hard to believe a 4 man team wouldnt get that chinned a 2 days, stump grinding on top. Really a 4 man team would get it stripped out in a day surely? Leaving a day for them heavy?

Anyone got? Any good? Use my plug in grinder often, cordless is better. Already have batteries. Will be used on stone and metal and for a fair bit of sanding

Hit a tonne of nails when last out milling. Have a gimpy cheapo wall scanner. Doesnt really work beyond an inch. Are there simple cheap detectors out there? Not looking to spend hunnerds. The bosch wall scanners seem to work real good on walls but not used in timber. Thanks

Nice bit of olive ash. Slabs were 41" by 10.5ft, mostly 2" boards. Hit 7 nails. New record!

After Market Seal Kits & Carb Rebuild Kits- Any Good?

Found the carb kits to be ok. Wouldnt bother with am crank seals as pita to to fit and oem are cheap enough anyways. Basically if its easy to fit, and a massive saving, and not going to wreck the saw id crack on -
Made this for cheap. Works good, big crab goes onto 4srt foot loop. Marlow elastic off ebay ( maybe 6mm)

Logging eats the batteries fast. I dismantled a decent size ash ( stem was 24 to 28" ).one set of batteries lasted until i got 357 sent up, nearly all rigged so plenty of cutting. I was pretty surprised it lasted that long

Many houses have solid fuel rayburns etc which are pretty similar. Dont know what the regs are but they will be out there -
I recently had an exciting fire in my exhaust. Chip and been falling back down the chute into the silencer. I thought someone must of been having a fire nearby until i realised the smoke was coming the chipper.

I think 201 tc-m is m tronic and tc isnt. Might be wrong though. If it had a carb h and l jet adjust itll be non electronic carb. It check they are on factory settings and try running it. Obvs check the fuel filter isnt totally clogged as well

Tbh if you just whack monstar bar and huge dawgs on it does the same job

Check your power to starter motor and starter earth. I would run a 24v jump cable from yer batteries to it for pos and clip to good clean earth on chassis for neg. Do it one at a time, so you can identify which if any is faulty. Has something drained your new batteries? Or are they fully charged?

Cant tell if your joking or not matty, but if you buy the lot id happily buy a few off you if they are up here

Just crack on at anything you fancy really. Youd do well to get a carving bar for the 180 but sure you will get something made if not an option for you. You wont manage deep curving cuts or much detail without a carving bar. Try face in a log first?
