  1. Assuming thats the bigger filter under the big red cap, it appears clean as a whistle
  2. Got hyd oil steady flow out the breather argo filter and dip stick ( when removed). Not a mega flow but more than a drip. Probably a litre per half hour going into a bucket. Chipper appears to working normally apart from that. Had breather off and cleaned it What is causing this?
  3. Extraordinarily generous of you rob! Great little bars
  4. Made this stunner of a vid rob! Probably not the best ad for the panther bars, doesnt really show a massive speed improvement, but it is definately a much finer cut on the 1/4 043 compared to the 3/8 043
  5. Rye oil do a good one.
  6. Excellent work steve, i knew you'd get the app going again
  7. Ok thanks steve! I have just updated android on my phone, just clicked the fungi app and it loaded, downloaded images and appears to be working! Result
  8. Is this a go go yet? Just trying to id something now
  9. Interested in the answer to this also
  10. Yes mate thanks, have fitted the little white pill to it. Seems slightly better just not totally leak proof. This saw seems to be only firing for a second then cutting out. Had it working fine recently then its gone back to doing this. Had a recent carb kit. Could something be stucking in carb? Some other issue? Any clues anyone?
  11. Got a 242xp on the bench. Tank Breather leaking badly. Fitted new oem one. Same! What is it with these? Supposed to use some sealant? What am i missing? Its pushed home hard as i can
  12. Major air leak usually detectable to the discerning user. What spud says, and listen out for erratic idle or it real screaming
  13. Have you found the newer ones less of an arse on with the carb/idle/trigger start?
  14. The 18v one is much much lighter and mint for reductions but you wont be burying the bar often with it. Fine for the odd 6'' cut but a bit slow. the 36v top handle is very noticeably more powerful, faster and more torque, and longer cut time, probably more like a ms190t rather than a 200t like
  15. Ordered one. Will let you know how it goes. 233 squids Makita DUC256Z Twin 36V Li-ion Brushless 25cm Chainsaw Body Only ROVER.EBAY.COM Part Number: DUC256Z. Brushless motor. HS 1-9, I 1-56, KA27-28...
  16. I like mine, ace for carving, small trees, chipper saw, coppicing, hedging etc. Nice and light and nimble. Defs a 12" bar like. Prolly wouldn't buy one new given the price though compared to what else you can get and certainly not as an all rounder. Wouldnt really cut the mustard as your only saw. Doesnt come out to play much, now i have battery saw though.
  17. You'll be well pleased when you do. Very zippy after
  18. Yes have checked throttle opening fully, linkage is doing its job and appears fine
  19. No history on the saw, bought second hand, a few different shades of orange plastics so probably atleast has a few bits replaced if not rebuilt. How to destress bearings? The saw runs ok, cuts strongly, just not very zippy, as fast to pick up as id like, and sounds like it has a bit more to go but wont. Ive had a new fuel filter on but nor checked the lines, suppose it could be a kink or something, but my gut feeling is its something inside the engine, as no real difference in rpm with the bar off. How on earth could it still rev fine with the h needle turned right in? Yes saw seems ok to pull over with the plug out. Very slight turning a 50pence feel to it but i dont think any more than i have felt on other saws that have worked fine.
