  1. Archer? Tried a few loops of theirs and never managed to sharpen them before they snapped. I wrote them off as junk. Let me know if this isnt your experience
  2. I have only done this twice in about 14 years, storm grade rain in connie monsters warrants it.
  3. Thanks for replies, not into a super cheap one as reckon it'll die doing a load of 404 chain ( my last cheap one did). Any thoughts @roughhewn ?
  4. I know we have been over this, but what's best bench mounted electric sharpener. This is for doing 48" chains that have it metal before any gives me the "man up and do it by hand". I do hand file mostly and happy with it, but doing 4 x 48" chains that have all it metal and having to put them on a double ended bar each time is tedious beyond belief. Killed a went florabest I was given in about 3 chains. Use a dremmel with diamond files but also not actually that quick. So oregon? Portek? Others? Ta
  5. Rob have you had customers calling in with similar failures on other brand bars you sell like gb cannon etc? Personally I like the sugi bars and haven't had an issue with them, but only runs 20" and a tiony sugi carving bar.
  6. 390 feels more nimble to me but bit less grunt, but not loads less
  7. You never know. Been looking ever since and not found one!
  8. I dream of a lwb sj with Peugeot 1.9 xud lump in it. Saw one for sale 5 years ago and regret not pouncing on it immediately.
  9. Any chance I could buy that pre ebay?
  10. Only run 1/4 on my echo. But the makita stuff comes with 3/8 .43 chain, and not a huge difference in speed of cut between that and the 1/4 but the 1/4 ) leaves a much smoother cut, but more irritating to sharpen.
  11. I have broken so many and then broken the replacements whilst installing fairly often . Hateful, but more convenient then getting it fixed in a shop
  12. Much nicer than doing phone screens
  13. Do you mean compressor powered ones? I use one a bit, great for losing chains Mark's but can leave a bit rough finish if your not careful.
  14. What stubby says is Bob on
  15. Mine was certainly good. Didn't really notice a difference between the two, though never compared with some bar/ timber combo. The 3120 definatley have some grunt
  16. 880 stopped pretty sharpish on friday. Seems the clutch drum has cracked and wedged the brake band ( now in 5 mangled bits) . new one to me
  17. Depends which one you bought seems they sell genuine 80quid ones and non genuine ones. Either way worth doing a vac/pressure check when changing as you may have an airleak causing it to run lean. Why did it sieze the first time?
  18. Sadly, i agree. Seems harsh but if the seller arranged courier not buyer, its the sellers responsibility to check courier is ok to courier, package properly, and insure against loss or damage if they want to. If the seller has cocked up here its hardly fair that you just loose a saw
  19. Good chance your pot will clean up unless badly chipped or very deep scoring. As said meteor is a good italian non original brand. Had one in my 361 for about 7 years with no bother
  20. Have a go with yhe 153 first. Should be just the job
  21. Sorry to here this. I have had similer issues. My bet is it was poorly packaged so sharp bits where exposed or leaking fuel
  22. Sweet jesus thats strong money! While we're on the topic what do folk reckon a decent mk1 550xpg is worth. In Reasonable nick, obvs not been a full time forestry saw, but not on its first chain either.
