  1. Yeah, haven't done loads with traffic lights,in general worked well, just the odd melon think they dont have to do red lights. Which I get as it's frustrating waiting and 2 mins feels like 10. the TM lad said we never had them on red for over 4 minutes though! The major is a hero, love that thing. Only comes out to play occasionally, but works it's socks off (and I'm the only one I let use it as suspect it's not up to modern hse law)
  2. Like your optimism! I'd not be milling that for some good craic and a brew, even if bacon butties and few beer tokens involved. Depending what you want from it if it 6' it'll take a day to 2 to mill up into slabs. I'd make a plan with what you want to do with the timber if you mill it and go from there. Quartering might be good. But not if you want massive wide whole table to slabs
  3. Been on doing lots of very ready to go ash trees recently. Only caught a few on vids for obvious reasons. Had TM on,amazing how many people ignore it and drive straight through red lights and right up to 4 lads in hiviz cutting a tree up over the road. The slo mo one was glorious. Very little to tidy, just winched the heavy out the river with a fordson Exciting fb version : https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1BsBBN8UTv/
  4. Ah sorry, you said already. This once a day?
  5. Roughly how many twists and for how long and how often do you find useful?
  6. I reckon 99% of garages just whizz wheel nuts on then clack a clacka for a few seconds. On a wee skid steer I'd just whizz them on and maybe check them in a couple weeks. Maybe. I mean if the wheels are slopping about it would remind me to check
  7. Lost a link and track came off. Only seems to happen when they're balls deep. Then snapped my winch cable pulling it out the muck, then the engine cut out, filters blocked. Should have stayed in bed
  8. I found I gaffed out alot with them. But I also do with geckos and x2s. Seem to be fairly stuck in my ways with rhenold kliens. Tried so twisted shank bashlins recently. Didn't seem comfier. Will be for sale again soon
  9. Personally I'd just remove it
  10. I have a 545 which has siezed. It's a parts saw. Your welcome to buy it for any parts you need. The carb and coil are good for example. 75quid?
  11. I use a 16mm. Don't really ever faff about changing what holes are setup. Just decide when up top whether it's big or little bits coming out, usually just use all 3. If I'm in doubt I'll stick a block up with a separate line in but it's super rare tbh. And ground control can pull all the slack back through after you have done a bit as this is a bit hard work from in the tree. Haven't worked with anyone who doesn't like it yet, so simple and you can knock some big bits out with it, and always feels super smooth from up the tree.
  12. Since owning a safe block the times the bollard has come out thr can are very few. But it's rare I'm working on fancy fancy lawns
  13. I have a 545 crankcase that should fit if helpful
  14. Did you find anyone better?
  15. Tediously time for renewal. Currently with trust and have been with tree surgeon and forestry insurance, pretty annoyed with the info they require about your business, like wanting the name and address of loler or questions about keeping ppe registers of all labour only sub contractors. Anyway, be interested to hear If anyone has an reccomendation or surprising suggestions.

  17. I'd also welcome and advise on winch size etc. Some folk say a 5.5t would be fine on a 50hp if on 540rpm? I have no idea, the spec plate of an igland 55a says 60 to 95hp which suggests no no
  18. Where abouts are you and whatnsprt of money would it be? Thanks
