  1. Did you richen the h screw after drilling?
  2. No plastics melting?
  3. Cunningly worded "genuine for makita batteries"
  4. When you knacker the bar on the 181 replace it with a 12 or 10'' bar. Will make them more nimble and quicker to sharpen, cheaper to replace chains and more handy in that it will have a different use to the 346
  5. In that video did he say about 10mins of cutting time? I was pretty into getting one of those and the tophandle version as it adds up to the same as a 161t with a battery and charger, yet is 2x saws and 3 batteries and 2x chargers. Not totally convinced after that vid.
  6. That is looking like a very worth mod. Was it just an exhaust port or have you been doing more?
  7. Not a tophandle though is it. Not as desperate for a battery ground saw though sure it would come in handy
  8. @shavey is it possible possible to get a 1/4 sprocket for this little 18v makita?
  9. The stihl would have to be very very much better. Anyone done any climbing with both and can compare?
  10. Looking at a msa 161t and just seen radmore and tucker have the makita top handle with battery and charger for 180ish. About 300quid cheaper than the stihl! https://www.radmoretucker.co.uk/shop/garden-machinery/cordless-garden-tools-and-accessories/cordless-garden-tools/makita-duc254z-18v-cordless-top-handle-chainsaw-25cm-with-5-0ah-battery-and-charger/
  11. I think you'll find a 1t electric winch will soon not be enough for you, especially if your wanting to fell things with it. The ratings on winch seems to be odd, I have a warn 9500lb ( just over 4t) winch on my truck, it works fine, but would rely on my tirfor 1.75t winch more, especially if mr ballsup is lurking around the corner
  12. I like lime. Nice light clean and bright wood. Nice and waxy to carve. Made this a while back Sorry if I already posted it
  13. Ebay is good for Chinese knock off parts of dubious quality.
  14. The stein/kask helmets are total pants. I was overjoyed when a smashed mine and got a petzl again. Endless screws coming off, horrid sweaty material inside that falls off its velcro, ear defenders dont seal.
  15. Sorry to hear this. Hope you get it back
  16. I'm too far away to do it, but I'd want atleast a foot of pegs left on main branches for carving. In an ideal world youd get some ideas from whoever is going to do the carving. But ultimately not the end if the world if the Carver has to chop a bit off
  17. Had a go with stihl msa 120 today. Great little saw but trigger is on/off no where inbetween. This may well effect carving Anyone know if this is the same on the 160t? Or ms200 @roughhewn?
  18. Would happily leave some reviews rob. Never new this existed and dont think I have ever got an email about leaving one . For 5quid off I dont think i would have missed that. Enjoying the dinosaw files
  19. Especially like image 3 barn owl wings are spot on. Nicely done!
  20. I've got a few m8 stainless eyes dotted about on my chip box ( off ebay) and use either old 9mm rock climbing rope (nice and stretchy) or those cheap pull strap loops. The gul ones are very good https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0036/4226/1577/products/p_AC0002B4BKBK-roofrack-straps-3m-roles.jpg?v=1548324220
  21. Had this with some used leisure batteries I bought. It's a pita. Some companies will only do sealed new batteries. I'd ask the seller to arrange courier. Failing that. Parcel it up real good and say it's a box of bolts or something heavy. Plenty of companies manage to send batteries by courier!
  22. This guy seems to have got the hang of it
  23. That is a good business name.
  24. Not used the rail rods. Sounds like you already know, but things get pretty ridiculous using 7 rods ( I only have 7) of the standard ones. Saying that not broken or bent any yet.
