  1. I am no expert at all, am looking for some drill attachment type rods also. Have repeatedly had issues with the brass screw together style ones depositing several meters of rod and brush in chimneys. Pita! Highly suggest clip together impossible to unscrew ones
  2. It's worth noting in Scotland you can do your 7.5t test in a swb 512 Mercedes van and it's basically the same as a car test. That's how I did mine. Just a theory, medical and driving test again. Was a good cheap easy solution to get me the grandfathers rights. You can obviously do this same thing with a trailer to get 7.5t plus 3.5t
  3. Surely not a 3mm ball bearing in the throttle linkage? Have a deeks at the parts diagram? Often sheds some light
  4. Yeah took me a while to figure that. Started up well and slowly flooded, as if you were slowly turning the h screw out. Had plug off about 6 times before I admitted it was worth checking the carb over again. Not sure how that stuff found its was in. The filter looked clean as a whistle and no sign of any cracks in fuel pipe and still good and flexible. Have popped a zip tie over where the fuel pipe and filter meet incase its getting in there.
  5. Was wondering why my 200 was begging down a wee bit. Thought is pop a new carb kit on as I had one by me, having fitted and not been able to start the saw and the spark being totally soaked everytime I finally realised I had fitted a c1 kit with a different nipple on the diaphragm, holding the needle open the whole time. Sorted now!
  6. It's pretty difficult to tell from any pictures to be honest. Like you I'd be very inclined to keep them if at all possible. I'd be inclined to get someone reputable to come and have a look and see what they think, if they use the phrase " I dont know how you sleep at night" then ignore there advice. Finding a tree surgeon who is willing to suggest no work required may be the challenge, but should be possible! Keep an eye out for sizable rot pockets and any fruiting bodies around the roots or on the tree
  7. Worth a good look at this pot as if this is salvageable the OEM one is the best quality one you'll get. There is a meteor stockist in Greece who is reliable, although cant see it listed from him on Ebay. There are 2 sizes one for the older 40somethings cc 346s and one for the new silver side cover 50cc ones. Cant remember exact bore diameters but easy enough to Google. You'll save 80quid atleast if your pot is reusable.
  8. What ever you do sods law will apply. Sell it and you'll instantly need a new coil/ starter mech/ carb/ brake handle. Keep it (I have a 357 in bits) and you occasionally pinch a bolt off it but ultimately will just take up space. Personally buy the time you have broken it for parts, listed the its and answered 1 million irritating questions about it with your " what's the best price" etc you'll be better off selling it whole as spares or repair. I'd probably give it a real thorough clean out ( all those shreds of metal out of crank bearings ) slap a meteor p and p on ( assuming the current pot is goosed?) Vac test and keep it as a working spare ( inevitably more useful) or sell it as working. Dont know how much it's worth in that state. If given the option I wouldnt want to pay more than 50 quid. New p and p required and possibly big end bearings/crank issues Good luck!
  9. If you have the SRT footloops that would excellent, I was just wondering about them. I'll speak to jo about them, how much you after for them? Half tempted myself, dont mind the high tops when on the deck, and the scafells lasted so well.
  10. What an irritating thread. I just bought Mattys old new cervinos. They seem alot lighter than rhe scafells I was on before (not scafell lites), slight harder soles, but seem good to me. Done some bits on spikes no bother ( not days and days on poles) Anyways to me, having not worn the older Andrews they seem light and alot less clumpy to climb with than the scafells. Perhaps I'll end up reverting back to the scafells if I have a few days solid spike dismantling if I need to
  11. Pull the carb off, dismantle and clean it, check state of diagrams and gauze filter.
  12. Yes I'd assumed it was the same as some other saws. My bad. Still Ebay yields some cheaper options
  13. Possibly yes. The prime bulbs are not a tenner thought, I got 10 for a few quid off Ebay. PM me your address and I'll post you one if you want
  14. I chipper has just done 7 loads of chip no bother. Went to investigate on Sunday, but error code not there any more.....mmmm
  15. Dont know anything about the event tbh. Obviously from that footage its looks pretty radge, but there were also some snippets of people that had be thinning each other sort helping each other back up and smiling. Obviously if your there and involved your pretty game for it, not just totally pissed and beating the crap out some unlucky passer by. God knows skyhuck, obviously it's pretty violent and I would bother attending, but dont really have an objection if people really like doing that to each other. Not into the property damage though
  16. Know what you mean skyhuck. I'm far too much of a Walter softie to enjoy such antics. Agree with mick though, hope they are able to continue to do it! Much rather see this sort of activity than standard bar fights etc
  17. Paired with husky 365 is a good option, especially for larger stuff. Nowt wrong with yer soft woods, just season them well, as per all wood you'll burn.
  18. Ok will try all that tomorrow. Thankyou so much! Quality Saturday service!
  19. Book yourself on a climbing course or pay a subbie climber for a day to take you for a decent days climbing, you'll soon know if you want to do more! Know a few folk who really liked the look of it, and had a horrible time on the cause hating every minute up the tree. But having a minimum of aerial rescue ticket and basic chainsaw ticket will make you more useful to others.
  20. I've done a far bit of beech and oak with 48" (42" cut) on a 66 and thinks its similar power output. Reckon you'll be fine, but if you were going to be doing weeks of it bigger saw would be the shizzle
  21. You might what a few pauses in cutting with the chain running, just to make sure it's all getting enough bar oil
  22. 660 is a fine on a 48'' lopro, so suspect a 390 will be fine on that.
  23. Go meteor. They are decent aftermarket, made it Italy
