  1. 10 years ago I was working on street trees in Erith and jumped in the transit to move it forward so the chipper was by the next tree and i noticed one of my cones was right I front of the transit, i jumped out to moved it and a guy jumped in and drove away in it. I tried breaking the glass as he drove away with no luck. While we were cleaning up he had picked a cone up out of our line in the road, put the cone in front of the van to get me back out of the cab and hid behind a garden wall until I got out to move it. Transit and chipper never seen again ! It happened in as many seconds as its taken you to read this, keep you eyes open people and every time you get out of the drivers seat take the keys out !
  2. I got the idea after seeing a guy reproof his fishing umbrella and he said it worked on that but I tried it on a gortex coat and it didn't seem to improve it. Maybe on another material if might work better ?
  3. I tried it Matt thinking it would work but didn't have much luck.
  4. Without a doubt as he was probably high on drugs being seen in such a car
  5. I know there meant to be on a level playing field but I think it will be a while before Lantra chainsaw Certs are seen the same as the good old nptc's
  6. Took it out if my 540 a few weeks back and I'm sure it runs better
  7. I'd pop in and see if its the same owner still living there, if so explain to her that you spent time submitting a notification and you had allowed for this within your quote. As you didn't complete the work there is a certain amount of money still owed to you.
  8. Been windy most if the day here on the west wales coast but really picked up the last hour or so
  9. Steady wind all day with the odd shower, but just started raining here on the west coast of Wales
  10. Your exactly right Matty, back then there wasn't anywhere near the sort of tree maintenance, inspection and numbers of tree contractors that there is now. I worked for a local authority in London and it was from the 87 storm and the the Jan 90 blow that the modern tree inspection system was started in that particular borough.
  11. Look up the 'chipper doctor' on the interweb, he will sort you out.
  12. I'll 3rd that. I took the spark screen out the other day and I'm sure its more powerful now
  13. The Mail will be running the same story this week
  14. Been wet here in west wales most of the day but not as bad as they forecast.
  15. I was talking to a guy at the weekend that has the LNG pipe and another fuel pipe on his land in South Wales and he said it was just 30" down ?
  16. A pond, filter system, loads of books on fish keeping and the koi carp to go in it
  17. Look up the chipper doctor on the Internet, he'll help you out. Knows a thing or two about timberwolfs
  18. I agree I wouldn't expect my groundies to run back from the chipper, a quick walk is fine. Don't want to see them dragging their heels looking at their phones.
  19. Had mine for at least 6 weeks. I can't fault it, used my 200T today just for a change and I've got to say I prefer the 540. Anyone who's waiting to see what their like before they get one, you won't be disappointed.
  20. I've worked on a lot of them, some cracking trees at Dinefwr park.
  21. Where was the stop site ?
  22. I'm nearly 4 weeks in and I'm very happy with mine. Once they have had 10 tank fills their a cracking saw. Actually I pick it up instead of my MS200T. I haven't noticed mine getting hot but I'll have a feel tomorrow. Any questions about them feel free to ask.
  23. Good luck with the thread, I'm sure it will make interesting reading.
  24. Even though you don't feeling like it, go for a brisk walk of at least an hour
  25. Got the same problem at the moment. I need to know if it is the sensor or the no stress box, I've checked the flywheel RPM and that's seems fine. Is there any really helpful arbtalkers that if I posted my sensor and grey box to they could try in their machine to see what bit is broken ? Long shot I know.
