  1. Could do a arbtalk survey on this, how many of us have paid for all of our cones ?
  2. I've been a stihl man for nearly 17 years, brought a 372 at the APF in last year and its ok but i'm not sold on it. I'd stick with a stihl.
  3. Yep i agree, slung too low but you got to be carefull with pop's that you don't get carried away taking big lumps, the weaker wood thoughts in the back of your mind make you sling it just that bit lower than you would normally. He'll know next time though.
  4. Hi, i'm just up the coast from you and i done mine last summer with Andrew Dacey near Brecon. That will be the nearest to us i think. Let me know if you dont know him and i'll get the number for you.
  5. I got one from stovesonline, £32 delivered. it does the job well, easy to use and read etc.
  6. The business
  7. Sounds good, i'm only up the road from you so count me in.
  8. I'd agree 100%, good firm to work for. They look after their staff and have good kit.
  9. Sorry to hear about your truck, I has 2 trucks nicked within a year a fews back. When you get to the insurance side of things they will want all the information on the truck you have got like maintenance receipts etc before they offer you payout and think about refusing the 1st offer they give you, they may come back with a better one. Also remember insurance companies are not VAT registered so when you quote any figures of what the truck was worth include the VAT aswell and not a figure + VAT. Learnt this one the hard way.
  10. I was on a course last November and Richard Bryant (Bryant Kesek ltd) did a talk on insurance and he predicted big jumps on all premiums over the next year or 2.

I know what you mean, i think the cable was never put down to the correct depth but thats what the letter said when i had a moan. Theres no way of proving these things afterwards though really.

I hit a street lighting cable in London with a stump grinder a few years ago that was only 100mm down, tested the area with C.A.T before i started and found nothing. Complained that the cables should of been deeper and the D.N.O said that once the cable is buried they can not guarantee that they are at the required depth of 450mm. Cost me 6 hours sitting there waiting for them to turn up and £230. Made one hell of a bang !
  14. Hi all, I'm thinking of doing it but have got to travel from West wales (round trip of 300 miles). Any one else in south/west Wales fancy sharing transport costs ?
