  1. Just what i was thinking:001_smile:
  2. 37 with a stiff left knee.
  3. I'd just finished school, if i remember it was really hot that June.
  4. Had a 07 plate santana from new for about a year, one word CRAP, Would'nt go near another.
  5. I bet BT still make them pay for it as it was their tree. BT let nothing go these days !
  6. I had 18 years climbing and on the saw before i felt i had enough qualifications and experience to start any consultancy work. There are a few of us about that have served the time before changing caps.
  7. Hi, With that type of damage and the protential danger of the limb falling, even if the tree is protected ( tpo or conservation area ) with the pictures you have i would think that any LA tree officer would'nt have a problem with you removing the limb and showing them the evidence at a later stage if there was a problem. As for the power line, if the customer rings the local power company and explains that the limb is resting on the line or at risk of bringing it down they may come out and remove the limb free of charge.
  8. Unless your doing serious contract work chipping large amounts all day, you won't go far wrong with a Timberwolf or Jensen. Good value for money.
  9. I took a dead eucalyptus down the other day and was talking to a customer about why so many had died the last 2 years around here and had a thought. The weather men have said that these last 2 winters have been the hardest for approx. 35 years, you don't see many eucalyptus that are much older than this. Maybe the old skool winters hit them as hard as these last two winters have. Any ideas on this thought ?
  10. I'd have to agree with hama, maybe a light crown reduction around the top aswell. Would'nt bother bracing though. Yes, trees do fail but there seems to be a growing trend over the last decade to fell anything that is not the perfect tree.
  11. Hi Johnny, If it just cut out and didnt cough before hand theres a good chance its something electrical, plug ok and good conection ? HT lead may may rubbed through and shorting out ?
  12. Hi Paul, I'll be intrested in the south wales one, maybe a couple more guys aswell. I'll keep an eye out for any notices.
  13. Hi Frenchclimber, i've been climbing with the prussic for 17 years and changed over to the hitchclimber 2 weeks ago. It takes a few climbs to get used to but its great, just stick with it. The video above shows you the basic set up. I've done a bit of climbing around where you are, nice part of the world. Sat by the river in Nontron many a evening with a beer in hand. Any other questions, however dim you think they are message me.
  14. Tried getting on savay a few ago, but mostly kent lakes/pits. Done the trees on Broadoak Fisheries when it opened 10 years back and caught a few doubles, some are mid 40's now. Bradbourne pits at sevenoaks, keston ponds near bromley, the ballast pit and Barden park at Tonbridge. I was right into it then but having 3 kids within 7 years and having my own contracting business down there made me slow down a bit. You put some great threads on here, how do you get to the time to be on the bank aswell ?
  15. You got it 100%, i'll sort out a few pictures of my fish. Maybe we should be on carptalk not arbtalk ?
  16. Nice fish, If i still lived in the London area i'd be there everyday with you, bit of a track from where i am now. Miss the sort of venues you got down there, the only carp waters round here are the modern chocolate coloured holes in the ground if you know what i mean.
  17. Hi Hamadryad, Are you a carp man or general angler, I reduced some willows for leisure sport (now Cemex i think) at sutton at hone in return for a gold ticket a fews years back. Never got to use it though because of work and kids etc, Gutted.
  18. Most machines will grind to at least 15" below ground level, ask them to come back and have a look and explain why they have not done what you asked.
  19. I thought a broken earth wire (the yellow/green one) would make this happen and they always break.
  20. All of the above, treat people the way you would like to be treated yourself and if your not 100% sure of how to do something, ASK. Hope it goes well.
  21. Your right about that, them and anyone who works for vosa, i'm sure when they go for the job interview the 1st question is 'do you have a personality ?'. If they answer NO the jobs theirs !
  22. If you've got £150 to spend already i'd save for a bit longer and buy the stretch airs, on my 3rd pair and they last longer than any trouser i have used in the past. Give FR Jones a ring, think you might get them for less than you think.
  23. When they were filming the 'edge of love' in my village in west wales had a guy knock on my door telling me they could see the top of my timberwolf in my yard behind my house in the shots and could they cover it up !
  24. Stunt fell ?
  25. I've used the old old 020, the 020T and the MS200T. The 200's run far better in cold conditions than the others. As for the 200's carb problems there is a little gaget in the carbs called a pump piston and as i understand it when you throttle up it gives an extra boost of petrol and these seem to wear (sometimes only after a short while) and need replacing. Approx. £10 to buy, 5mins to fit (now i've got the hang of it). They go behind the little round brass gromet type thing on the engine side of the carb. Anyone need help message me, i'd be pleased to talk you through it. I've been told that when this problem first came to light Stihl were a bit slow to talk about it even to their dealers.
