  1. Ditto the above 2 posts regarding alloy bashlins, you won't buy better.
  2. I think all but one passed but we were all 'arbs' as Guy called us. Your right about the under pinning knowledge, He said that he has problems with people coming on the course from other sections of the tree industry having difficulties. Your spot on about building up the layers, you never stop learning.
  3. Sounds like your keeping the Mog busy ti, good on ya mate.
  4. They say you need a minimum of a level 3 qualification to do the PTI but when I done it with Guy Watson through the AA, half of the candidates didn't.
  5. I've found Mike very helpful and has always got back to me within a couple of hours regardless of the day of the week. Maybe he is away on holiday or something ?
  6. I hope I've got this right. I've got a class 1, but at the moment don't drive professionally. If I was to do the cpc now but didn't drive professionally for the next 5 years I would have to do the 35 hours all again ? Also if driving is only part of your job, ie if you drive a 7.5 ton truck to a job and then do tree work, you don't need the cpc ? I didn't know about the 4 part question section that you have to do if you don't do the cpc before the deadline day.
  7. 34" waist here and the large are a little too big for me
  8. Sorry for your loss mate, like others have said it makes the day to day moans mean nothing. I assume the crash was the A44 one ?
  9. That's a shame you've had a bad time with Stanton hope, I've always found them 100%. How about a short trip over the dartford bridge and visit FR jones ?
  10. I remember real old skool when they didn't have leg loops !
  11. Yes the cab had seen better days. If you get a chance send me some pictures, I'd be interested to see how its looking.
  12. Ti, I remember the body tipping over 'to far' on me a couple times, what I used to do is hold the lever in the down or return position and reverse the nearside wheels back on the woodchip pile and the angle of the Mog should be enough to through the body back over. Maybe for the future, work out the position where the body will come back on its own and have a length of chain fixed between the underside of the body and the chassis to act as a stopper.
  13. Ok, I'd defiantly check before carrying out any work. Without sounding negative and without having a detailed look at the whole tree, I prefer the look of it as it is. Maybe a very light thin and removal of deadwood maybe more suitable ? Feel free to ask as many questions as you want though mate.
  14. I'm not a die hard football fan but enjoy following my team ( Crystal Palace ) but he should be banned for life. He doesn't represent what I consider the game is about.
  15. What's the reason for the reduction ? Also any T.P.O.'s or is it in a conservation area ?
  16. Nice truck Simon, it looks the business.
  17. Spring lane builders in near Croydon, I used to live near there and it just caught my eye when I saw it.
  18. Nice work, something different. One thing I did notice is the name on the builders bag in the back ground. Are you from that neck of the woods ?
  19. I work with guys who have 550 and 560's, but one guy brought a 555. Even though it's not listed as a professional 'xp' model, it's no different and performs equally as good as the others.
  20. Your be ok with one of nods wire fids, have a look at http://www.treeworker.co.uk
  21. Like Tony has said, I wouldn't bother. It's good you feel you should point out others wrong doings but it's not really your problem.
  22. Up until about 5 years ago here in west wales the only time you ever heard of people getting dipped was at big shows or horse marts etc but since then the authorities hold regular roadside checkpoints even in quite rural areas not just the main A roads. I've been dipped twice in the last 3 years.
  23. I have been known to have a quid or so on football, what you got in mind Steve ?
  24. Lovely evening here in west wales
  25. Department of work and pensions I think ?
