  1. Does anyone remember the Oregon boot that done up at the back, probably early/mid 90's ?
  2. Hiya Tim, Looks a nice job, where was it ?
  3. I was talking to the Eco plug guy at the arb show and you can't use them within the buffer zone beside watercourses or dry ditches etc as they contain standard roundup and not the biactive type.
  4. I overhauled a 440 a few years ago. If your taking it completely apart then yes I'd change the rings and while your at it, a small end bearing. Your going to need new gaskets as well. As regards the carb kit, unless your having problems I wouldn't bother as this can be done anytime without too much hassle.
  5. I've been using my 540 for a year now and it hasn't missed a beat. I've got a good ms200T aswell, I use the 540 for dismantles and the stihl for pruning.
  6. Poured down all day in west wales
  7. Are you going to have a stall at the arb show Rob ?
  8. Wildtrackers at Glanusk estate, 01873 812557
  9. Hi Tony, I've never know the Ash trees to be as far behind all the other species coming into leaf as they are this year. I was only saying earlier to someone I wondered if there's something going on that we haven't realised yet ?
  10. I would of put money that it was that pin aswell.
  11. What's it like to splice an eye into Rich ?
  12. That was what I thought, hence why I thought I'd mention it on here.
  13. Good points, I'm not sure I've ever known such a difference between leaf emergence on oak and ash in 22 years of working in the tree industry. Just out of interest, my beech hedge come into leaf 2 weeks earlier than I ever known this year.
  14. I'm sure many of you have heard of the saying 'oak before ash, we're in for a splash' meaning we are going going to have a dry summer and 'ash before oak, we're in for a soak' meaning the opposite. Well this year more than any other year I've known, here in west wales the oak are far more ahead of the ash. The ash are only just thinking about coming out into leaf.
  15. Have you thought of trying boating/marine rope suppliers ?
  16. I've put some stihl full chisel on mine and its even closer to a ms200T now.
  17. I've borrowed an Eco fan from my neighbour to try out while he is away. I think its great, I'll be getting one as soon as he wants it back.
  18. South east wales
  19. One frosty morning I asked my dad if he wanted me to scrap the frost from the car windows before we went out for the day. He said yes so I went out and done so, once I finished the windows I thought I might as well do the whole car. Needless to say the paint work never quite looked the same again and my dad done the scraping from then on !
  20. Wildtrackers might be running a UA 5 course later this week I think, give them a ring to find out.
  21. Depends on what sector your interested in. If its forestry I'd go for 32, if its arb them 38. If you have got lots of time and money then both !
  22. After 20 years of contract climbing I always thought the arb game could be hard but after doing a little bit of forestry the last few years I think overall forestry takes it out of you more, tough sites and conditions.
  23. Thanks high scale, I'll give it a go and report back.
  24. Has anyone tried spicing an eye in Sirius bull rope, its a 32 plait. What are the taper patterns for a 32 ?
  25. Hi Jon, Have a look on the Clarks website, there's a sizing guide for the cut and climbs.
