  1. I had a 026 a couple of years back that had exactly the same problem and it turned out to be the ignition module breaking down.
  2. Apparently the guy behind them used to work for schliesing and took all the ideas he liked, left out the bits he didn't put some new features in. Before the TS industries, I used a 10" PTO Jensen and the TS was miles better at pulling stuff in. The turntable version is worth the extra money. The Jensen's suffer from the sides of the top feed roller wearing and bits of material getting stuck down either side.
  3. I was quite impressed with the pto turntable TS industries chipper, worth a look.
  4. My thoughts exactly, good opportunity for the right person.
  5. I wasn't far from Chepstow today and it was chilly but far too warm for any white stuff.
  6. Hi Ti, I could do with a bit of that, we've had what seems like days of cloudy, overcast skies with on and off drizzle here in west wales.
  7. Or even give samson arbormaster a try, similar price but better than gecko IMO.
  8. Good idea in principle though jake. Have you thought about learning to splice so you can put an eye in your rope when needed, not as quick as a clamp obviously.
  9. The news said the tree had fallen earlier in the day and people were climbing over/under it to get past and a section of wall that must of been dislodged fell hitting a pedestrian. Sad loss whatever the details though.
  10. All good thanks, nice mix of work for different people and about 25% of my time is spent training now.
  11. Very nice Tim, How are you mate ?
  12. Big shot a line up over several good branches and then srt. Once you've reached that point normal double rope system accent to the top. To be honest though the FC guy did say that he wouldn't mind if we had use spikes on the very biggest Douglas as there were no branches you'd trust for 50-60'.
  13. The Douglas were spot on about 3 weeks ago. We done 2 days picking macedonian pines in August. The cones were unbelievably sticky, a real pain to remove it from your hands and equipment.
  14. Where you based Mick ?
  15. I've done a few days this year in South Wales picking for NRW (FC wales). I've climbed some big Douglas firs, 40m plus and as you probably well know the best of the seeds are at the very top so I've had some great views as well. I'm doing a day this week on coastal redwoods near Monmouth.
  16. The assessment scheduled says ' climb no higher than 250mm or 10" above your anchor and have no more than 500mm of slack in your climbing system'.
  17. I was going to say the same the other day. I've had my 540 for 16 months, I'm a team leader so climb nearly all day 6 days a week and to date no problems. I clip the saw up as much as I can, dropping saws on the strops is gonna damage any saw eventually. I work with boys who regularly break chain brake handles on MS200T's, some people are just a little more 'rough' with their gear than others
  18. I've had a very good service from them for several years now. I dropped 6 sets of blades off with them on the Saturday of the APF and I got them back on the Tuesday after. No company is 100% but their not bad.
  19. Try Wildtrackers at Glanusk , 01873 812 557
  20. Any rescue if needed, I use with pole rescue and a broadleaf crown rescue. If there is another climbing line or system on site then the rescuer can use this but if not its good to know how to use what they have available.
  21. I've been teaching it today funny enough. It's a rescue for if the casualties rope is damaged or not long enough to bring him/her to the ground and there's a third person available on site using another line to lower him/her with a fail safe system incorporated into it. Feel free to pm me and I'll go through it.
  22. A recent splice, 11.5mm New England tachyon.
  23. One of the husky reps at the APF showed me a replacement rear AV spring that is / going to be available.
  24. I'd ask the dealer to replace that under warranty if its only 9 months old.
  25. How about the wrestling on a Saturday afternoon, big daddy & giant haystacks etc ?
