  1. We should have an Arbtalk BBQ. I have a nice large site here and loads of seasoned wood. 16 gallons of various homemade wine that needs to be bottled/drunk soon.
  2. Thanks for that link. Main advantage is firewood logging in rough conditions and less bending down when tall and this is when were are often and the material too mixed to go into an expensive fuel machine.
  3. Great Event and watched the British race through the Peak District. I was in the British Viking Cup when in the teens and the final in Yorkshire. (lightweight special wheels failed to turn up on time and so withdrew before lapped) I was good enough to do the French version but lost heart in the end and moved schools.
  4. Still needing some of these new Bowsaws if someone knows of a reliable source. Thanks.
  5. Severe rain here all night but at least it saves watering all the young trees and herbs in bags. Now sunshine and bad gales. Where has summertime gone?
  6. Reminds me of the official one beside a road in NSW "Don't be a tosser and take your rubbish home"
  7. I have been watching the Wood Ants at work this lunchtime. It's a long climb to the top of a large tree to milk the Aphids and back to the nest. In a few days where we have been sawing all the debris is moved onto the pile.
  8. Use a bicycle stand pump (with fine airbed connection) instead of a vehicle airline. Alternative is a little fuel mixture and a toothbrush.
  9. Need some new SLOW signs and no idea wher the best current place is to source?
  10. Panasonic HIT panels work well compared to most but need a wind turbine in this weather!!
  11. Wickes do a tough 30" L canvas sack bag that looks good. 500075 Code and £10
  12. Often the places we need to go are too narrow and steep for an ATV. Goat tracks! Single bridges accross rivers. Seen a German firm does a Hatz diesel in an Enfield.
  13. A new one with side vents and on blocks should be OK unless more damp products/clothing going inside then can escape through the holes. We have a 10' and a 20' and no problems. Lock box and alarm and smart grease makes the thieves go elsewhere.
  14. To be used on the road between sites and for pricing and on work tracks. ATV's turn over too simple compared to bikes. I have seen one with fuelcans and saw racks.
  15. These are the ones I was looking at:- Trojan | 2012 | Two Wheel Farm | Off Road | Suzuki Motorcycles, Motorbikes & ATVs Australia CTX200 Bushlander | Off Road Agricultural | Honda Motorcycles Australia Kawasaki Motors Australia - 2012 Stockman AG200E | Yamaha Motor Australia Thanks for the link on diesel motorbikes which I am sure could be run on veg oils.
  16. I had a new "Ecorider" with the nice Hatz diesel and intended to take to Norge but the HSE/VOSA/DVLA........ said was not a motorbike and not an Agricultural machine so much hassle and one of the reasons the firm closed. (there are additional serious reasons but I don't wish to troll) The Rokon is 2x2 but had no suspension and a petrol engine and again problems to legal road use/insure between site due to CE......VOSA/DVLA. The bikes we saw in OZ were based on standard trail but with mods.
  17. I am thinking of a motorbike purchase to use for work and when in Australia noticed a range of interesting Agricultural Motorcycles from the main companies. Never seen them in the UK and does someone produce a diesel version so could run on red diesel? I think it's the same in NZ with these machines.
  18. Nice to have sunshine on the back this Sunday since all the monsoon conditions this week!
  19. HTC One X and the alternative waterproof version on this link:- Handset Range - JCB Toughphone
  20. High prune to allow light and breeze into the wood and some trout to munch the bugs.
  21. We use a "Hotpoint Special" it's a stainless steel washing machine drum with the spike and works well in wind/rain and looks like fire flies from the side. (Used the glass door for a bird bath) I have a mesh grill on the top.
  22. Word Press? This has the means to change pages each time you need to.
  23. In Singapore we saw a small solar powered fans on hard hats which blew cool breeze into the face. Good idea but never seen here.
  24. We use large black tree planting sacks as these retain moisture (as can be moved unlike raised beds) and fill with a mixture of soil/horse muck/rotted leaves and have been eating well from them all. Carrots/Potatoes/Herbs.......... I have some current pictures and will post this evening.
