  1. Assuming the work site sells here next week (30th) we have numerous trees growing in plastic grow pots and it would be a shame to be wasted as cannot take abroad so if interested in cheap purchase send me a PM. Would have to be collected within the next two weeks. There are also 6 bulk bags of rotted horse muck for mulching.
  2. Have fun there out there but don't purchase a house there!! Looks like the Bergen?Haugesund area?
  3. Leon did a BBC TV filming here with the Police and Council in the site here beside the A6 as too many people killed on bikes in this area. Worked for some time and slowed people down but now back to very dangerous speeds on public roads and overtaking on double whites on blind bends. Good biking weather and time I looked at a long distance trial bike for two people again!
  4. Bio- Regional in the south of England.
  5. Living in a vehicle then a Mercedes Benz Vario 4x4 van. Free camping then a Fiat Panda 4x4.
  6. I have one if interested on Arbtrader. More info on the E-Mail and pictures.
  7. Parish and District Councils are well know for messing around on prices and verbal is often a waste of time. Some people in this area now charge £100 for a visit and if awarded the contract take that off the final bill. Sorts the serious from the timewasters!!
  8. We are going to be homeless on the 30th March and I have now found something much more suitable that the Lavvo Tent. (Pictures to follow) Packing all we own into a 20' ISO at present and wondering where the future lies but thinking positive and the forecast is good weather. Think will have www access once a week soon. NO TV which is fine!! Have a good weekend.
  9. I would like to know the current wages of the fuel drivers as the ones we use for Agricultural diersel seem to be doing OK!! Strikes harm the UK and I think are a waste of time from the unions. Some people are never happy no matter how much is earned and should learn to be careful with funds.
  10. Not to use for private land work like gardens. Road side work on trees and hedges but not public land like parks. Unsure as to the reason he changed the registration class and how he can drive around the London area as this? Forced sale? So normal driivng to private customers and taking back logs and chips would be breaking the law and have the vehicle seized. ARB work is not allowed to run on red diesel unlike Agriculture/Forestry/Horticultural.
  11. Don't understand why the current UK supplier still sells in the small 5ltrs cans on a pallet and not like original in bulk 20ltrs and direct to the trade end users? This would keep the purchase costs down to a reasonable level. Hobby users seem happy to fork out the high cost but professionals are always price aware. Needs to be simple to purchase and direct.
  12. If used for Agricultural and Forestry purposes then can be as it's intended use. NOT for tree surgery on private land!! Land Rover were original designed with PTO and Linkage to plow fields.
  13. Is it Aspen in Sweden putting up the wholesale price or the UK supplier? Price is too high and most people would like to use but cannot pass onto the customers.
  14. Do people mean "Written Quotes" or "Verbal Estimates" as much difference in law? Word of mouth and standard of work gives us most paid work now but there is still much to much running around pricing up against certain firms who are often council prefered contractors. Hence the reason we stopped doing tree surgery contracts now and back to the woods. Pricing work low helps the customers and not us all. I remember years ago the FC asking cutters for rates on a large site and we all gave the same price because we knew the scam and also subbed to those who did not have the final contract. Mutual benefit to those in the trade.
  15. I used to use a Mowi Skog 8 and 2453 crane for woodfuel chipping but did whole tree lengths as this made the work much more effective. Crane is smooth compared to most brands and with a two levers control. (Remote available) Chipping unit was a Laimet HP21 and produced 40 cubic metres an hour on the small blade.
  16. We should all charge call out fees like electric/water people. That would stop at the time wasting. Next time someone calls check if they already have several prices and see if can beat that and if not don't waste time going to view.
  17. Mark with timber crayons the ends of the wood with business name like "AA" This worked when some stolen here and I matched a large piece of bark with the police from the site to a length of wood on the Ford Transit used in the theft. This was 3.30pm on a Friday afternoon in view of public.
  18. Prices and methods of selling are different around the UK and worth doing but needs time to build up customers and bagging is a horrible task. Good charcoal has repeat orders and sells well.
  19. Some chainsaw manuals mention using EP90 but when good bio chain oil around pointless using engine oil which causes such damage to the landscape working in.
  20. Make it local sell it local.
  21. Mattracks | Worldwide Track Technology There are demo's available.
  22. To use in a smoke control zone?
  23. Use some pigs as we did on areas that had helicopter coverage and it had all come back worse. Pigs made sure of no bracken return and were good to sell as free range pork. The bracken problems started when people stopped harvesting it for feed and animal bedding.
  24. I soak new chains overnight in a plastic box but never seen that with pouring oil and pointless as goes straight onto the ground and lawns. Wax on bowsaw blades I have seen to keep sap off.
