  1. I would have said Willows/Aspen and Brambles to start. There is a firm in this area that has spoil heaps from processing batteries and one can see reasonable growth now. The dust will be toxic and should use overalls and a good mask!
  2. Report the numbers to the phone firm and it will block them in future.
  3. Some good eco homes made from local woods.
  4. Some councils class firewood sales as "farm" produce so no planning needed at all. (same with signs like those boards that turn in the wind) I have seen planning refused following discussions and then a new application approved. (I have been told it's all to do with fees received from a friend who used to be a main planning man) Keep low profile and should be fine. Councils often take action when the public moan and like a silent life otherwise.
  5. All makes including 8x8's » Willkommen bei Europa Truck-Trial «
  6. I am sure most on here that use woodstoves have a smoke alarm (which has batteries and works) but how many have the vital carbon monoxide alarm? There are a large number of people who die from this and a close friend had a scare this week. Alarms should be in each room/building/shed that has a combustion product. Gas Cooker/Gas Boiler/Woodstove/Woodchip Boiler. It's important to site the alarm as on the instructions to work.
  7. This was told to me from a legal man who lives in the Buxton area. We were in the large cellar collecting some firewood and a sudden cold feeling and the dog went running around barking. Then we saw several Romans marching straight through the main wall and out the other side below the steps. He did some research and found the house was built on a section of the original old Roman road of which the A515 is now. Dog never recovered and was bonkers until it died an old hound. Weird.
  8. I have friends who believe and those who don't but I dislike the constant "one should believe in this" and dammed to hell for those who don't. Humans like animals are all different but seen too much double standards in religion. I was invited to an Alpha meeting in Australia with friends so had the meal and left before all the blah. People don't need to be religious to be nice!
  9. Out of interest have people on the forum been in the same area with a person and ever felt a strange evil feeling? We have twice. (Once seconds before someone pulled a large hunting knife and tried to stab me in Derbyshire and once with a person in Norway who had come to visit us for a meal with his wife and we found out later had caused most of the terrible hassle towards us in the village)
  10. I am talking about those who are legally registered as a Minister/Priest (not normal people who believe in one religion) and behave in a disgrace manner considering their full time paid employment and so called social standing and abuse that position. It has everything to do with the religious connection and there is much more of a link than you might realise. Should all resign instead of hassle to us. I can send you a PM but cannot post on the open forum.
  11. Highly concerning that several of the worse people in the Norwegian Scandal case are claiming to be Christians. So much for caring for fellow man/woman and telling the truth.
  12. Is the horse used to felling and chainsaws? Mind those useful fingers in the chains when loading before the horse extracts. Have fun. One cannot share lunch with a machine.
  13. We are going to this on the Friday having been told it was on and looks interesting. The Edible Garden Show - THE Ultimate Grow Your Own Event
  14. That a good idea but who is going decide who is to be funded? Is there a conflict of interest with the current person who runs the BHL Charitable Trust also being in charge of work enquiries for all horse logging contractors and offering his own services when people call the main phone? There were problems in the past with certain people whom I am not sure are still involved.
  15. About the Draft Springs Worth looking at shoe type depending on the ground you will normal work on.
  16. When so often people work shifts now when is a good time at all. I remember Rail Track starting cutting steel at 3a.m. 6a.m. To avoid the Sunday masses going out and roads silent.
  17. Use those with a length of steel on the end so can feed underneath the logs. Are you using springs on the chains?
  18. People should have (like it said in the bible) a freedom of choice to believe in all the religions of the world (including tree spirits) and not have it forced onto them as children. Religious views have and still are causing more problems around the world than solving them. Screwing people's minds up with much nonsense. Tribal people managed fine until missionaries arrived telling them otherwise. All "christian" churches have different views from those around and think the direction it's taken is the correct one. I speak from personal experience of growing up in a Methodist Minister's upbringing and don't believe in "GOD" at all having looked at this in depth. We live life in as honest a direction as possible without needing this and don't like the forced nature of religions and looking down on people who don't believe. I had to write this post several times and it's personal facts and not intended to offend. (I hope)
  19. Interesting post. How does the panel have protection from lightning strikes?
  20. A leaflet came here this evening from a Christian place that said is now using people who have been in prison and now released and will do gardens/tree work/rubbish removal at reduced rates to those from commercial firms. Back to original can we go to a local council work depot and loan the machines there at reduced rates as someone had posted?
  21. We have had some good purchases on almost new/little used before but be aware (sold as seen/untested driven) There is also:- Welcome - Ramco Sales - Disposals L.Jackson & Co. Ex. MOD and NATO Disposals, Ex Military vehicles for sale
  22. Some interesting comments on this posting. (I have worked on both sides of the fence). Large Council as a chargehand and then became own boss and all training I paid) The reason I packed up after 12 months on the council is we as a good team of 6 worked so hard the Boss and his 8 office people could not keep up with planning/finding more to do so we ended up sitting in a shed in front of a portable gas stove all work hours instead of going out on site. (We had mended all saws/serviced vehicles/washed the office women vehicles and still came in on time but became brain dead) So am I correct that I can now turn up at a local council works depot and book hire of a woodchipping machine on a set time/date to use on private works? Wish I had know that a long time ago!! Please confirm so I can print this and go on Monday morning.
  23. Have a look at these. ACTION MOBIL UNICAT® - going there is half the fun
  24. Does windblown and sawn up whilst as a complete tree count? Pictures would have to be scanned in as a long time ago.
