  1. Just need a crane grapple saw then more time in the cabin whilst raining.
  2. There is a huge storm due on earth from the sun and the Northern Lights should be visible in France - Germany - Denmark - England. Now until late Friday. Power cuts are warned. Going to charge up the camera.
  3. Is that the Swedish one that Marcus Vanstone and that John Bunce used to use?
  4. Having been a victim twice I am pleased to see at last some real action from the Police and Council towards these unlicenced waste collection places. Hope this will mean less vital metal vanishing from small business and those vehicles involved being seized. BBC News - Metal theft team set up for East Midlands
  5. I have a logo the same on business paperwork and vehicle and also as a brand to use on wooden products like cheese boards. Simple and basic but with the name.
  6. That would make a nice present. Never seen one before.
  7. One of the main reasons we purchased that place in Norge is it gave us a deep inside peace (nothing to do with religion) when walking/sitting in the mountains in all seasons. The sounds of nature and no man made interuptions. The stress caused with being forced to sell has tainted that but we need to go back and see now progress made.
  8. Have you considered that rubber matting used at festivals and the metal version like at the APF to gain acccess. Then use that area at the woodland for winching and extraction. No idea how large the wood is so difficult to see.
  9. I have used both over 20+ seasons and the machines are worn out before the horses are and cost more to maintain. When one goes to work it's impossible to force the animals as it is the person operating. Current Clydesdale has worked 20 hard years including much with voice command alone and still going. Need to find a second one again soon. Both have the place in Agriculture and Forestry. Could do with a crane on one though!!
  10. Shame the people that did that escaped from the fire. Total scum!
  11. Religions should allow people to decide not constant pushing to believe. Jainism seem to have the correct attitude.
  12. I have found it. HIPPOTESE Le cheval de travail http://hippotese.free.fr/blog/index.php
  13. Interested to know the reason the original person wanted to know?
  14. The double units work well on all terrain and some have overrun brakes. (There is good French website but cannot remember the name which has some useful info including people that design modern extraction tools) The ditching looks like the wood snagged due to extra distance from the cart and twisted the man off. Extraction is dangerous and more so with animals. I am amazed how well those two small wheels work on rough ground without breaking off.
  15. It's said more snow due in some areas? Been down to 2C here and frosts with fog. I remember when snow was around on the bluebells but less common now.
  16. That's what I was thinking as I am often needing site info and detailed maps in the wood. Used to have a Nokia unbreakable mobile but that's a long time ago and the current Samsung has been damaged with rain. Panasonic do a small tough book but not sure if used as mobile also and VERY EXPENSIVE.
  17. I grew up in the Jungles of Borneo (hence the interest in trees and nature) so used to see these creatures around as the local Iban tribes people did so am aware of the size differences between that and even a Norwegian Forest Cat and the Norwegian Lynx. The problem with footprints is having a camera when needed and often the areas these are reported as hard ground.
  18. When someone sends a PDF with E-mail to a modern mobile can it be read like on a PC? Screens are so small. What are the alternatives? I am not a tech person but mech minded. Thanks.
  19. I was in a friends Range Rover about 10 years ago in the Peak District going along a small rural road with stone walls each side. (broad daylight) A large black cat (not domestic moggy) came over the wall into the middle of the road and then vanished over the second wall. He did an emergency stop and we both looked and said what the hell was that? Perhaps very stupid but we both got out and ran towards where the animal had vanished into (ideal hunting terrain) but could see nothing but some large correct prints in the soil. Never told people (until now) as stunned and did not want to be mocked and these animals would be killed if people found them as often scared of something wild. The single possible idea I have is some considerable time ago a rich old man had a private zoo and was going to be closed down so he released various animals into the wild. There are still some wallabies from this release living in a certain area of the Peak District which causes people in the local public house to take a double view. (Some people feed them in wintertime but cannot go into details) Much wildlife in Norge that most people don't see.
  20. A little raised tree length works well and allows the stumps to be gone over without problems. I should mention we never used "Blinkers" as dangerous and branches become stuck behind and can damage eyes. (helps the horses see the trees) There are some double wheeled units which raise the back section.
  21. That was a close shave.
  22. Interesting video which shows how hard these animals work which people don't understand unless been there. Still needed to raise the main stem more so the log moved with less drag and keep the sawmill happy. Great idea to have a seat unlike all the normal versions and more safe for all involved. (I remember watching someone throwing the reins forward going behind a tree and catching them and continued). There were some people in the BHLA that had personal gain/interests and not that of helping all those involved. Unwilling to post more on the open forum. Some good people left because of this!!
  23. In WW2 both the German and British pilots reported strange high speed lights and odd flying machines. There was considerable stealth info/machines found in buried bunkers following WW2 and I am sure these sightings are some form of special crafts. There is talk of a commercial aeroplane being produced using green fuels that will go into space and take 2hrs from London to Sydney.
  24. Happy because springtime and marking boundaries.
  25. http://www.novare.no/tmp.doc/mereo/ssb/CUS-03243212/SITES/IglandAS-ENG/index.html Iglands website and there are manuals and good people to call.
