  1. Local area is fine. I need to drive laden from Derbyshire to Immingham then 28hrs on a ship then mountains drive in southern Norge.
  2. I was told last week no licence needed to take in own scrap and those who have no bank accounts can still be paid in cash even with the new regulations.
  3. I need a method of road legal transport as have 20FT. Unladen weight 2185KG.
  4. Thanks for the links. That is expensive. Looking more like £1K.
  5. Trees and debris all over side roads. Much damage in the woods. Calm now.
  6. B******S!! This is one of the reasons the UK is in such a mess.
  7. Depends on the end use? Careful with Alder as possible explosion when the woodgas flare starts.
  8. Ideas please on where to find a reasonable priced lightweight chassis to take a 20FT ISO shipping container. Needs to have twistlocks and be road legal (lights, brakes, tyres)but doesn't need VOSA test. Thanks in advance.
  9. Install a small CHP and use own chippings. Seen in Finland villages with district heating plant.
  10. Local Police have a phone tree so sms to all business available.
  11. Snowing leaves. 6C and bitter wind. Woodstove cooking evening meal.
  12. NO. Smoke also means possible carbon monoxide gases which kill. Possible down draught from shared stacks. Sensible to use pumped pumice to line flues.
  13. Hello all. I need some ideas for an Instant Evergreen Hedge. 200M +! To be located beside a main road so will have road salt blowing on in wintertime. Some good sunshine but rootbase will be in shade behind low stonewall. Needs to hide most traffic so at least 2M High. I had considered a mesh fence with Roses, Russian Vine, Honeysuckle, Ivy but timescales on growth is a concern. Alternative is someone localish careful removing a hedgerow with good roots?
  14. Some of the current firewood prices in Derbyshire are out of this world. £160+ VAT a single cube!
  15. Use a small gravel / sharp sand mixture in the wheel tracks. Much more effective traction surfaces like done in Norge. Salt freezes again below certain temps and damages brakes/chassis.
  16. Flexothane? Alternative a wax waistcoat.
  17. More costs to the SELF EMPLOYED. What next driving licences? Interesting the people making up all the rules never have to retake exams as business life has changed since passing the original degrees. Should be free of charge!!
  18. R.I.P. Take care out there those who ride bikes.
  19. Hello. I am needing a good stump grinder machine to take out 14 stumps (some Elm) and between 14" and 3' before SUNDAY. A day's use and good level site access so would consider one of those pto auger versions on a tractor. South of Matlock in Derbyshire. Idea on trade costs please.
