  1. The Mowi crane works well in tight woodlands. Enables collection of trees difficult to reach with other makes with two simple levers. There is even a three point linkage version to expand uses.
  2. Main problems with diesel engines is people run them with little servicing. Electric vehicles are charged using Coal and Nuclear.
  3. Mowi Skog 8 with large crane and 30M winch? We had one a long time then sold and third people still using now.
  4. Time to reduce the numbers of overpaid and underworked people which run UK! At least with a hung election parties have to work together for the good of all.
  5. Good Luck. Keep positive! Have you considered a "Tramper" to access the countryside?
  6. Ecovers washing up works well and good for the outside on paintwork.
  7. Should have mentioned make sure when dipping tanks a CLEAN unused hose each time from HMRC to avoid possible issues with testing of samples.
  8. We have run a legal Agricultural/Forestry business a very long time and use a vehicle which is registered with DVLA as Agricultural Machine so can use Red diesel provided not doing certain works like private gardens and machine haulage to building sites. A little while ago a unmarked/signed Black Toyota Hilux double cabin pulled into base with two men and said from Nottingham HMRC Specialist Investigation Unit of Road Fuels Testing and wanted to know the type of fuel we used. We showed DVLA Logbook, NFU Tractor Insurance and confirmed what the vehicle was used to do. These people were making up own ideas of law and giving us severe hassle so we told them to leave. Came back this morning giving hassle again so reported/complained to HMRC and Police as NOT been to more local Agricultural/Forestry business in area as checked up and should have been on public roads doing Derbyshire Operation Safe Drive with VOSA. So should one have the same problems and are legal take this advice. 1. Take Logbook and Insurance documents with machine. 2. Provided vehicle plate matches logbook and is used for that purpose then discussion ends without a legal person in attendance. 3. HMRC can then test for Kerosene in tanks as illegal but no more and have to leave site. 4. Take pictures of vehicles and people faces and ask full contact details of main office. I said wanted illegal fuel duties back on chainsaw petrol over last 30 years as NOT being used in road going vehicles.
  9. It was to show the concern on cutting methods from people having to do tickets that claim to have used saws over 10 years in work.
  10. Can I post some pictures of the ones from some trainee woodcutters last week? Shocking!!
  11. 20' ISO Shipping Container with alarms and lockbox?
  12. Time the APF/AA/FCA........ went to talk with HMRC on the tax going on to chainsaw fuels.
  13. Old style Toyota LandCruiser which is still produced with good diesel. With care will last a lifetime.
  14. There should be more safe cycle lanes seperate from traffic. In this area adults often riding 3 in a row blocking traffic and when tooted at give much abuse and V signs. Seen several ride across red lights.
  15. Toyota LandCruiser and some American 4x4's.
  16. Modern compost loo is vermin resistant and does not smell. Less cost longterm.
  17. Pest Control | Mouse Trap | Victor® Pest Traps | Victor® Pest | Victor®Pest
  18. Used Aspen before a long time now testing Stihl Motomix. The local supplies place claims the fuel tax is NOT on the product. Think this is not correct due to price still charged. So called Green Chainsaw fuel is still charged from HMRC as normal unleaded petrol and around 70 pence a litre. Is there someone on Arbtalk who can confirm. We had found a different source in Europe but pointless inporting when unreasonable fuel taxes being charged. Thanks.
  19. Roadside trees on HIGHWAY owned land is OK on Red diesel but NOT on private land. Commercial haulage in Agricultural vehicles is a risk area even using Red. Taking own produce back to base (not a landfill site) including wood is fine as the NFU and APF had meetings with HMRC. Regarding the fine ask the HMRC about the illegal charge on chainsaw petrol fuel around 70 pence a litre!! Seen numerous local contractors around here doing machine and gravel haulage with tractors running on Red. Huge Risk.
  20. There are batteries powered ones which zap them inside.
  21. Yes and now available to purchase with matching twin axle air braked trailer!
  22. Yes. Useful tool but keep tip sharp with flat file.
  23. Rain. Wind. Snow. These original Swandri bushshirts are superb!
  24. Brave postings on an open forum!! There is a fine line between stress and depression. We have had so much hassle in both work and life becoming homeless due to political scandals but continued in work living in a wooden cabin with support from close friends to follow the dream. (Some relatives are Social Workers/Doctors and said we are doing well and sane considering all been going on) Interesting hobbies are good to relax and avoid too much coffee and booze. A GSD makes a lifelong friend helps in bad times! We all think it can never happen to us and should be willing to support those around us who feel depressed as it might prevent a needless death.
  25. Forestry and Farming are also now full of hassle from office based non practical people these times. A MOD vehicle is not the best to use in the woods to remove trees. Worth doing both to see which suits better. Alternative is to purchase a mixed species woodland?
