  1. Take care there. Stress can cause serious health issues so chill and review direction in life.
  2. How much do you intend to cut and the diameters and the species?
  3. I would leave as is as might affect warranties and there is still a chance of some severe weather before springtime. I have used heated handles on 242XPG's, 346XPG's and 395XPG with no issues even in warm conditions. Looking at a new clearing saw with heated handles to replace a worn out 240R
  4. I have a large amount of small trees to remove from old fields but stones all over so not good with a brushcutter blade and a handsaw a hassle being tall. Is there a firm that produces a right angled lopper with long handles? Alternative is purchase new and bend the section above blade? Thanks
  5. Hmm. I don't understand the reason pictures load upside down!! Blue Skies here with warm sunshine and from -14C to +6C. The lakes are making noises so NOT safe to go on at present fishing. 30cm of snow last 24hrs.
  6. Hei. You in Finland? Take care on the ice as temperatures up and down this season.
  7. Razor Blades glued behind the doors in front of the rubber seals then have DNA. 1% do 80% of the crime.
  8. I don't have an FB page but it looks more useful than advertising in the Yellow Pages.
  9. Coldest we recorded here towards March was -38.6C at night. Less snow than usual here but at least no rain.
  10. Snowing again. 2cm an Hour. It's been cold all week. (-22.8C) Now mild around -4C. Tomorrow much sunshine due.
  11. Hydrocut Screw Blade. Simple, Basic and will split all woods well including frozen.
  12. Snow Frost Snow Frost. Coldest to date is -18.6C Last season at night was down to -38.4C Going mild next week at +4C
  13. -18C here. Beard frozen. Still motor manual cutting like I was 30 and using the heated handles on the 346XPG to prevent frozen gloves from the snow. Birches cut well but the Pines are like concrete. Time to use carbide chains. Tried to post some pictures but......
  14. -18C and with snow. Dark now but much sunshine. Ideal thinning weather. Pleased to have heated handles.
  15. We used various custom designed horse tools in the woodlands with extraction to the ride-side and a small U421/600 with a Mowi Skog 8 crane to remove trees back to base for processing into products. Nice to turn off the chainsaws and have the silence of the woodland with the horses.
  16. I work with Shire/Cydesdales horses and most is on steep/boggy ground so cannot understand the logic. All that noise and fumes when working horses and the risk of bust hydraulic hoses. The Amish won't use tractors then drag a huge diesel engine around powering machines. How about using a Vimek Minimaster / Alstor instead? Expensive? Hope able to have some funding! The BHLA now have a 8x8 manual forwarder to hire I was told.
  17. We all work in a dangerous occupation and having moved to Telemark Norge we wanted to be able to allow those who are disabled to come and visit here in all seasons. So instead of converting the main house we are thinking about a new wooden cabin but need some advice from both people who are disabled and those who have relatives that are. Facilities and Activities? General Needs? I am looking at purchase of a 3 wheel Tramper so people can ride down to the lake across the fields. Welcome to post in public / send me a PM. Thanks.
  18. Rough Night. Little Sleep. We and the animals (Shires/Clydesdales/German Shepherds) are pleased to be alive this morning. Damage here is a few curved ridge tiles and the chimney cowl. Much tree debris around and thousands of Spruce needles on the snow. On the mountain tourism centre at 1340 MOH (metres above sealevel) it recorded wind speeds of 170KLMS/HR (106 MPH)
  19. I do mean 26 METRES and the news pictures on the west coast are bad. Boats trashed/vehicles turned over/trees down and house roofs ripped off. Storm is arriving here now in the mountains of Telemark.
  20. I know some on here live/work in these countries and assume are aware there is a severe storm due from 16.00hrs TODAY until 06.00hrs TUESDAY. Waves on the coast around 26 metres and inland winds with gusts in some areas of 40m/s :001_rolleyes: Snowing hard here but sunshine and little wind. Main roads closed across the mountains. Police advise keep inside. Sharpen those saws and batten down the hatches.
