HI Guys Please keep an eye out, truck got broken into on saturday while one of my guys nipped in to a shop (locked the truck) window smashed and climbing kits, rigging kit, 201t ms 261, 362, 441 and 660 and leaf blower was taken. climbing kit included a tree hog harness, dragonfly harness and ropes, climbing spikes, flip line carabinas etc rigging kit was in a red rope bag and included a block and capstain. all we have left to carry out tree work is a pair of stihl gloves Also some was second hand stuff, can i claim this back still with no reference no. or receipts?
  4. What flaws would they be? I havnt found many. And being sub 750kg don't really need a break. Had to do a emergency stop and it was fine
  5. Have you had any problems with it being ag registered? I have two vosa points near me. Also what's it like getting three guys in the cab.
  6. Have you ever had problems with it being ag registered? I have a vosa check point up the road from me, also what's it like getting three people in the cab
  7. I know exactly what you mean, I'm the same with my transit, that's why I'm after a rb44. Where did you go for yours, withams? Or jacksons. Is 7-8grand a reasonable amount or try and drive them down. Never dealt with either and not sure what they are worth trade price if you know what I mean. Best Southdowns
  8. Ps contact AMP near me, they can help you get one in and probably sort some haulage
  9. Cheers for the reply mate. Did you get my message on the rb44, going to get one soon. Realy keen to get one. Same as you, can't afford or justify a mog at the moment. How you getting on with it? Followed your thread on it for a while. What's the payload like.
  10. Hi guys, So last week I picked up my new chipper from AMP in Portslade, East Sussex. What can I say, after using every chipper from Jenson to timberwolf and green mech ....... What an awesome piece of kit. Spec for my model is Sub 750kg, turn table, no stress with three different settings, It's a twin hydrolic roller and marketed as a 6inch chipper but the opening is 8.5in inchs and the roller is massive. Took down a huge ivy clad macrocarpa today, never blocked once. Any one else use one? I know there new but it's worth getting a trial for anyone needing a new chipper. Also thanks to the guys at AMP for supplying and offering great after market service. Can't fault them. Interesting to hear other arb guys views if they have used on. All the best Southdowns
  11. I know it's not easy, I admit I am, as most climbers, an adrenalin junky. Just fuckibg fed up with neighbours, council HSE wankers and people constantly moaning while your trying to make a living. I did a job opposite a school last week, they didn't like 6 large ash trees coming down so did anything to stop us. HSE got involved, couldn't fault us apart from one question.....how are you going to control dust as dust could go in the children's eyes! Dust for **** sake! I said they could blink. Didn't go down well. Maybe just crack on with arb but being in the middle of no where with no hassle from the public sounds appealing
  12. Hey guys, a bit new on here Just want some advice really. So iv been running my arb business for 10 years now. first started when i was 19 after college and am now turning over 80,000 a year but iv kind of hit a glass ceiling. couple that with having a string of bad luck and the most appaling people to deal with in an urban setting i was thinking of changing my business to forestry. what do you all think? im not talking massive forestry work but more selective oak and other hardwoods using a mog or daf 4x4 with hiab. i have buyers for hard wood. if im felling and extracting using a daf 4x4 with hiab and delivering it to the sawmill could i earn some decent money out of it. could i get £400-450 of oak on the back of a vehicle like that and drop to the sawmill then come back for the rest to take the rest to my yard as firewood. maybe im being crazy and just a bit fed up at the moment, but kind of fancy getting out of urban tree work and being on my own working amongst the sticks:001_smile: look forward to you opinions
