  1. I've also ordered some parts for my Predator 360 SW - the factory in the Czech Republic has been on two week shutdown so anything that has to be ordered is taking an age. I've been waiting over 3 weeks now and still no parts
  2. Just found these - Mk4 Fenn trap rat squirrel mink trap | eBay Any good to you?
  3. A mate who's a fencer has both and he rates the Canter as a great weight carrier before it looks overloaded (up to 5ton allegedy). Very happy with both though and he's had them a few years
  4. Not unusual to have customers ask to see insurance, certs etc. Just make sure you take detailed pictures of everything before, during and after the job as proof that nothing was damaged by you or your staff.
  5. Don't take timber as part payment - tell them it'll be cheaper if they keep the whole lot, as you don't have to transport it, or it's part of the price to remove what they don't want. It has no, or very little value until split and seasoned, and even then, this is low grade firewood. Black walnut video anyone?
  6. Try putting a sign up "free firewood" on nearby busy road - usually works for us. Even the rubbish stuff goes pretty quickly!
  7. Hardly raciist - if someone says - "I hate those blah blah blah" then that is racist. Stating facts is not. I've been to some major German cities, and believe me, it's pretty grim out there in places. We are still somewhat protected by 22 miles of sea so haven't seen the same levels of immigration. And by the way, before I get branded a racist, I have good friends from many countries, and several different shades of skin colour - all who have lived here for a while are also concerned about the current levels of people coming here who want to change our country, rather than integrate!
  8. I've had a B&Q shed 6 x 8 take me 5 hours as it was c**p and nothing fitted properly! Worst one was from Wilkinsons at 7 hours as I had to go off and buy roof support timber that was the correct length, cut the doors down to fit and generally ponce about. Best quality from a local supplier to me takes about an hour for 2 people - the old saying you get what you pay for definitely applies to sheds. What Lazurus said about damp and level...
  9. Nice little domestic mower which picks up well in the wet - much better than my Hayter R48. Drive is weak though - mine has failed after not that many hours, so it's a push mower as not worth the cost of repairing
  10. And the same for us too - enough on the books to fill up to the 2nd week of June so not too stressy at the moment. Can always fit the odd half day in here or there to keep urgent customers happy as well

How hard can it really be to copy messages you want to keep over to Word or similar and store them on your own pc in a folder - easily searchable with your own key words. We don't need to rely on Steve who already does a grand job, to do evreything for us!
  12. Ok cheers - not seen this one before somehow
  13. Not sure if I'm missing something here? Rather strangely written listing, but looks genuine enough, ie. not asking for bank deposit etc - so why is it being bid up like this? Timberwolf woodchipper TW 150 DHB shredder tree surgeon chipper not greenmech | eBay
  14. Rotatech were about 180 last time I looked
  15. If the blades are new you'd be able to slice your fingers on them! To check, lift the bonnet, undo single bolt holding flywheel cover and slowly lift cover - the chute is quite heavy. Blades are easily accessible. Check they pass close to the anvil (can't remember the clearance will look in the workshop manual when I'm in the workshop again) The spring that tensions the top roller can get bunged up with debris stopping it pulling down properly. Unbolt the cover ,lever it up with a bit of 3x2, hammer it onto the housing and use long nose pliers to pull out anything caught up in the mechanism. If the feed rollers are hesitating, the speed sensor may need adjusting closer to the pulley. Hope some of this may help!
  16. Certainly - this weeks load is spoken for but next week Friday I'm working with Treechop on here and will have a full load, about 3-4 cube ready for that weekend. If you could pm me your number please, we can sort out
  17. As Dan says, but wait till light goes out (mine takes 13seconds) then start her up
  18. Hi, Trainee - if you need any more after Andy has helped, I'm in Chelmsford and usually have 2 or 3 loads a week - also free of charge!
  19. Mines exactly the same - very poor system on an otherwise good machine. The newer cables do seem to have more crimps on the loop, which is where mine failed last time
  20. I use an X27 on sycamore for my own use when I can't be bothered to set the splitter up and it goes through no problem at all
  21. 15ft holly, crabapple, dead ash, and scraggy field maple which was right on the new fence line. Def no TPO's on these. I suggested good friday as it was my only free day before the builder started
  22. Weather was good so it was just another working day. Customer "suddenly" needed a few trees out ready for a builder putting a patio in in two weeks time - happy to oblige at enhanced bank holiday rate of course
  23. Years ago had a cyclist do similar down a very quiet country lane - my boy there with flourescent jacket on saying hold on for 30 secs and it'll be clear. Oh no, straight through - missed him by about 2ft with lump of leylandi. And a mate was working on the lighting in the Holmsdale tunnel on M25 - diversion in place, lanes shut off with cones etc whilst they were up in lifts at roof height - 40ft artic comes rolling right on through. How no one died that night they never knew!
  24. That'll most likely be Huntingdon as it say's so under Lees' name
  25. 35 degrees, light breeze, hardly a cloud I sight - I think I may have timed my holiday right this year:biggrin:
