  6. mt the oil out, flush the oil tank out with copious amounts of brake cleaner or some udder solvent, dry it out with an air line and leave it in the airing cupboard overnoight to ensure it's bone dry loike, use chemical metal loike JB weld or suchloike to seal up the offending hole. Inspect the chain very very VERY CAREFULLY and try to straighten it out if it's not running straight n' tru. If in doubt buy a new chain. Drink Tea.
  7. # yes of course your right and as i have an engineering background and cud have done the blades, but as i was busy and making $$ and decided this was one job that i was happy and willing to pay for. The way i look at it is if you can do all your own repairs/maintenance you will learn alot more and know what has and has not been done but on the other hand if you cannot afford to pay for 'run of the mill' repair bills from time to time then you are not in the right business or making enough money to warrant that.
  8. I simply couldn't face the thought of this aggro so i let the local authorised Greenmech dealer replace the blades for me as the original ones were completely worn and had been resharpened too many times......so it cost me £400 for the new blades including labour. Money well spent as the machine runs alot smoother and chips loike a boss now. Will probably rotate the blades next time round myself though.
  9. relocate your Yard to 'Bleak House', yer landlord will be a Mr. Tony Martin.
  10. The Cream of Manchester.
  11. It always makes me laugh when i see a utility arb company here in Devon that put private plates on as many of their vehicles that they can, lots of plates with 'ARB' on them, yet their employees struggle to get decent replacement kit in a timely fashion.
  12. was it the new Echo CS360T ?
  13. love it when he says 'it just shows to go ya'
  14. thas one cute lookin' Unimog.
  15. cheers, it actually cost me nought as i had a few of those curly lanyards stashed in me shed fer years, they are also the 'correct length' when you are at full stretch and trying to cut that almost out of reach branch.
  16. this is what i use (along with 2 small steel krabs taken from knackered trailer break away cables) to secure my silky to my harness. Very cheap and it's been on there bout 2.5 years and has saved my silky from hitting the ground a few times. Bike Bicycle Scooter Motorcycle Motorbike Disc Lock Reminder Cable Security | eBay

  19. Got a call from a lady last week asking me to remove a dilapidated wooden garden shed (6' X 4'), I duly did so and asked her where she got my details and why she rang me ? 'oh i spotted your business card and saw you did 'dismantles' so i thought you could dismantle my garden shed' ! LOL easy money and we all had a laugh about it, looks loike oil be doing her conifer hedges next year too so win win
  20. I too run a similar setup with a Greenmech on the rear of an Ifor trailer, alas me truck and trailer doesn't tip though !!! Can be soul destroying at the end of a hard day to have to shovel off all that chip

  24. i run a very old isuzu double cab 4X4 and have removed the rear seats completely including the seat belts. I get all my climbing kit, slings, lowering kits, strops, ratshit straps, insulated poles, fuel cans, saws, blower etc to fill the void and this leaves the butt empty for chip / logs etc. I do securely lock my saws in situ and 'hide them from view'. I am considering one of these to gimme peace of mind (assuming the rear passenger door will open just enuf to enable the tray to slide out far enuf to access the saws). I think i cud slide 4 saws into this van vault box. Van Vault Slider Drawer System » Product
