  2. tinkered with one recently, replaced the large broken Easy start recoil spring, flushed out the oil tank, new spark plug, greased the clutch bearing, dressed the bar etc. an amazing Hobby saw (or is it classed as a semi pro/farmers saw???) which i used ferra days felling (15'' bar), snedding and logging up. I removed the spark arrestor screen and it really came on song then. I really like these saws.... just sayin' loike.
  3. FFS ya can't leave us hanging with a comment loike dat:001_tt2: we want pics!
  4. yes quite a few times. i tink the bar/chain combination from a stihl MS200T will be getting modded and fitted to my Echo at some point.
  5. make sure ya run the chain quite tight and keep a spare chain handy just incase it spits one off. A Husky 372xp alloy chain catcher is a good mod if it snaps the original plastic/nylon one. Remove the spark arrestor but keep an eye on the cover that surrounds the zorst as mine has become a victim of heat and melted a fair bit. Bloody good saw though.
  6. yes mine is RHD but it is an import. git sum more details from the vendor and start ringing insurance companies to test the water.
  7. might be tricky to insure as it may be classed as an import. whats it's title on the logbook state, 'Isuzu Pickup' ? My old 15 year old Chevy LUV has been a bit tricky to insure despite having Isuzu pickup on the logbook. The one your looking at shud be identical to the equivalent Rodeo / D Max.
  8. afik there will be paperwork involved, the engineering company that does the work my well be able to sort it all out for you. maybe buy a factory built tipper (ford RANGER) so less hassle ?
  9. wonder what the ground clearance is like though as i tow off road and would be concerned it would snag on shallow ruts ?
  10. ok i just rang NFU and asked them whether me applying signage, stickers, an electric winch up front and extra security by way of a fine weldmesh security cage inside the cab of my crewcab pickup in instead of the rear seats will cause me any insurance issues or incur any premium increase and they rang me back and said NO problem and it will NOT incur any more cost to my premium. I asked them to put that in writing in the form of an email as back up proof. Bit of paranoia on my part but it's one less ting to tink about !
  11. wow he's very fast.
  12. well Simsimo i have a 360Tes and it's truly an amazing little saw. I assume it has an identical enjun and carb as the 360Wes. I Like the proper full length 14'' bar/chain combo and i tend to use it for everything from climbing to felling out and snedding up small-medium trees. it really is that versatile. My dislikes are the chain can jump off the bar quite easily thus damaging the drive links and this takes up to an hour to put right with a flat file assuming the links have not been bent twisted beyond repair, I am gonna see if i can modify a Stihl MS200T bar and chain to fit as they are better in terms of quality imho. The side casing that surrounds the exhaust has started to melt/deform and will probably be brittle as a result. Overall i would highly recommend one of of these smaller Echo saws.
  13. mmmmm smells fishy to me
  14. yep he has a real sminky looking' 100. his username is Gups 1828
  15. LIKE
  16. A mate showed me a krab i'd not seen or used b4 recently, 4 way i think? I assume these better than the traditional 3 way krabs ? I've had krabs roll open a few times now and it's simply devine. As fer stopper knots....i always use one and they hardly ever inconvenience me. Back door birches or garden cherries......i really don't care as a fall from 20' might be enuf to finish you off as much as a fall from 90' so that comment is irrelevent and quite silly really. If i'm gonna free fall please let it be into a 'well maintained landing strip'.
  17. s'not fer chipping into though Geoff !
  18. Ok people i have literally just put the phone down after talking to Galbraith Bros. These are £147 (plus VAT i would imagine) each, BUT they are out of stock and there is a waiting list (which i am now on). Apparently there have been some plastic clip failures and Galbraith were not happy bout this and have asked the manufacturers to either strengthen these clips or better stihl make them out of steel or aluminium. Galbraith have said this is not as straight forward as it would seem and the manufacturers are dragging their heels over the issue so it's a csase of wait and see what happens.
  19. i see yer point. I was subbing to a guy last year who slated udder Arb guys for having their vehicles sign written or having a particular trading/business name! He would not have his vehicles signed and advertising his services as he is totally paranoid that 'they' (thieves, p*keys etc) would see this and smash into his yard and steal his chipper and saws ! Mind you he is an oddball to say the least.
  20. yep don't tink it's anywhere near 80' yet !
  21. any idea an how much they cost ?
  22. No Jon i tink you making it up QVA here ya go, have a butchers at this. Cheshire Contracting 4x4 And Commercials
  23. errr no theres not too many about now Jon. Apparently Toyota had a limited supply of the upgrade chips as they were in great demand across europe. QVA Trees you can have a Hilux replated to tow 3.5 Ton
  24. Just echoing wot Kev has said above really.
  25. Stephen has 'named that tune in one' with his relevent comment above. Doubt many people have ever managed to climb one of these without first pruning off the spiky branches with extendable pruning poles with a saw head attachment.
