  1. Is einhell really that good in general ? I've looked at their tools before, but I don't know anyone that uses them. I have 2 lots of battery gear, metabo for site work as I find it indestructible and milwaukee for bench work, as I find it comfortable in the hand. I have tried ryobi as a cheap bodging kit, but found it crap, thought it was decent at first but it just doesn't last, unless I had a Friday afternoon jobby. So would be willing to try something different if I knew it would last.
  2. Beat me to it, I was thinking something along the lines of an old style shepherd's hut.
  3. Haha, I tasted this when working in cambridge. Me and lad I was working with were starving, drove round and spotted what we thought was a burger van. Got in que and then when it was too late realised it was a couple of Jamaicans, they gave us some goat curry for free. Never again. [emoji23] [emoji23]
  4. That's a nice handy size, what make is it ?
  5. I'm not really keen on any of the Fisker models, I think it's because of the handles, I prefer a traditional hickory handle.
  6. That's stunning work mark, bet you're happy with that. How many of you did it take to lift/ fit it?
  7. Jamie, that's brilliant. Thankyou for that. I don't intend on doing much tree work with them, they are mainly to be used for carving (well, trying [emoji23]) and for joinery work as well. I already have a 18v top handle saw which I use for fine details, but want to add to my collection. I also have a dolmar ps32 with carving bar and a makita 9010 which is rarely used, but hopefully one day be used for milling. I also have a McCulloch (have a soft spot for them as it was my first chainsaw make I bought 30 years ago, so I like to have one, and to be honest, I've never had a problem with them.) Apart from the 18v saw I don't have any other makita battery tools, but this doesn't bother me. All my joinery tools are either metabo or milwaukee. Cheers Harvey
  8. Haha, you have just bought the exact 2 saws that are next on my shopping list.
  9. Nice I like that. Love how people still use old time skills and methods.
  10. Ooh interesting, I've just enquired with shavey about a price for one of those. How do you find it.
  11. Just go for it, I keep trying the odd bits. I love it. I just keep watching YouTube and when I see something I like, I just give it a go. I did a duck a couple of weeks ago for my mam. It's the funniest duck going, but my mam loves it, and that's all that matters.
  12. Some training and ppe will take a very large chunk of that if you haven't had or got any. Don't dismiss dolmar or makita.
  13. I've got a Gerber which I really like, but wouldn't mind a leatherman one day.
  14. Cheers doobin, just ordered myself 2 of the 6amp batteries.
  15. Can someone please point me in the right direction for makita copy batteries. Been looking for the thread where someone put a link or something to the best unbranded makita copy batteries, and a few of you got them and swore by them. I'm needing some extra batteries. Cheers H.
  16. As above, top gesture and probably some satisfaction that you gave him some sort of personal send off.
  17. I would go down the warranty route first, if you have no joy there (which I don't think you will) then its anybody's guess as PVC is a sod to repair. I've stitched it before with fair success, but good luck anyway. You may be able to find a decent heat patch to repair, or what about a proper upholstery repair shop.
  18. I'm keenly following this, as I'm going to have to bite the bullet at some point on a new laptop. Currently got a hp, with windows etc, and don't, mind going down the same route. However what I cant get my head round is paying a subscription for Microsoft office etc. I also have the free libre software downloaded, and I am quite happy to use that. I also have programs such as autocad, sketch up, and gimp photoshop suite for photography and video editing. So my question would be how would a mac be compatible with what I already have and would I be able to download and run everything I need / want.
  19. This landed on my granddaughter earlier, scared the living daylights out of her. Sorry it's not a brilliant picture but if you zoom in you can see it has a massive black horn. Anyone know what it is and if they are harmful. Cheers H.
  20. That road looks familiar, is it high on the hills above holmfirth near to styles wood ?
  21. Yep ! My sister is a respiratory nurse, doing 12 hr shifts etc all with full ppe ( including out of date masks) I bow down to every single one of them. I have to wear them for maybe an hour max when on wards doing maintenance, and that's more than enough. But what pirates me, is the fact when all this is over, the frontline staff will be forgotten about, whist the stay at home 'managers' will be taking all the credit.
  22. Oi have a small routine that I try and do most nights, 15 or 20 mins max with kettlebells and bodyweight exercises. Short sharp intense sessions, so I don't get bored and still feel some benefits.
