  1. I've always had an itch to get a husky 455 rancher. Not got one yet, but probably will in the near future. I only need one for the odd occasion, so it will be used with Aspen as well.
  2. Haha, I've got 3 routers as well, all makita corded ones, but going to invest in a battery one as soon as I can, probably the ryobi one, as I have started using there gear and its ideal just for maintenance work at the hospital where I work.
  3. Hi mark, sorry only just seen this thread. I would say go for it, mill it , mark out and cut all joints, then assemble, so when it does move, it will all move together. Sounds an interesting project.
  4. I've always liked the Suzuki jimny, but the newish vitara is nice, but I think most of them are 2wd.
  5. I've recently bought the same one. Got it as a kit, to turn it into a normal router.
  6. These are a few of my recent projects.
  7. What gets me about this alternate living, which I'm all for as long as it doesn't impact on anyone else, is what do they do about having a postal address. As without a postal address I presume you cant do much, as for as getting a bank account etc.
  8. I like that, nice and quirky. I like playing about with things like this. Cant really help with a suitable finish as I just use owt at hand and experimenting. I bought a load of different style stencils, draw on the wood and then just router along the lines. Just have fun experimenting. I use colour glitter glue and allsorts of weird and wacky things.
  9. Hi, yes It was part of my studies at college a few years back. I really got into it whilst at college, and the ex brother in law is a surveyor for a company, and he can get me some part time work doing it. But since my work place put me through the course, they haven't let me carry on doing any so I'm a bit rusty now, but I'd like to pick it up again. I was also getting quite proficient with sketch up at one point, but again I've gone rusty with it. I turn 50 this year so looking ahead to something else to do when I get fed of being on tools.
  10. Have seen these eyebrow roofs on the odd occasion but o ly on old buildings. Done plenty of traditional roofs in my time but not done one these.
  11. So what exactly should I be looking for in a desktop, that is for usual PC work, plus cad drawing software and photo/video editing software.
  12. I'm in a similar situation, but I'm after a desktop, so I can do can drawings and also try and learn more about photography/ video editing. I asked out tech guy at work, and he said use either hp, Lenovo's or Acer in that order, but at all costs avoid Dell.
  13. What about using clear decking oil, I've used it before with good results.
  14. Doesn't the local council allow you to tip at their local household waste disposal sites if its pre arranged and you pay a fee ?
  15. I have a 25ltr wolf one, had it about 5 year now and not a single problem. I would of thought most in the £100 bracket would be generic ones.
  16. Out of curiosity, how much does it cost, to have a hedge layed, in whatever style.
  17. Always fancied a chain mortice for working in big timbers, but to be honest, I don't have enough work for one to justify the cost. But it will always be on my wish list.
  18. cheers Saul.
  19. Saul, how much do them outdoor tables and benches sell for, if you don't mind me asking.
  20. You not doing kettlebells anymore Steve?
  21. Cheers Steve, I just thought of the meteor, as that is what we had as kids. But yes, an airsporter sounds ideal, I may buy a kit with sights, gun bag etc all included.
  22. Keep thinking about getting a bsa meteor for vermin and plinking.
  23. Just trying to get into photography, mainly wildlife. My wife bought me a bridge camera last year, and I love it, although I still don't know how to use it properly. Have got my grandad's old camera in loft with various types of lenses, might have to dig them out and have a play.
  24. Both me and my dad have got a small Bosch electric saw, nice and useful, my dad had his for at least 5 years and uses it at least once a week, he loves it. Personally I'm now only really interested in battery saws.
  25. Hi, I've got a 2007 plate Tucson, I bought it 18 months and it's been totally reliable. Done about 20k in that time, I can't fault it. I would of liked a terracan but there weren't any about that we liked at that time.
