  1. The woodman is my favourite out of that lot.
  2. When I was a lad, we had an allotment, I started a little business supplying sticks to local people (live in the heart of a mining community ) and I used to do all my cutting and chopping in an old brick pig sty. Started with an old rusty bowsaw and an old rusty axe. But soon made enough money to buy a gleaming new bowsaw and axe. Will always have a soft spot for the trusty bowsaw.
  3. I'd love to have a go at something like this. I've never done any oak framing.
  4. That looks bloody lovely.
  5. I've just bought and started reading ray Mears autobiography (my outdoor life), I like ray as he is easy watching and explains things easily. He also helped to plant the seed for me to build a small boat for canals / rivers to watch wildlife from a different perspective. He is also quite good at judo. Another guy I like watching is Steve backshall, he knows his stuff as well. He's also quite good at judo.
  6. The shipping container has come in useful.
  7. Will the prazi fit any circular saw ? Or do they need to be a certain size? This has got me very interested.
  8. You could speak to Barry on here, known as@Gardenkit. He runs a business in Devon. I know he's a big believer in stiga gear.
  9. Personally, before you expand your business, you need to have a good look at yourself. Are you good at organising Are you good at man management Are you good at dealing with difficult situations And most importantly, are you good at dealing with stress I'm a joiner, and used to be self employed, I used to think about expanding and employing people, but when i sat down and gave it serious thought, i realised that I wasn't a people person, yes i can deal with difficult situations, but i absolutely hate stress, so from that point onwards, it was a definite no no. I currently work for the NHS as a maintenance joiner, and love it. If i ever left i would just go back to working for myself and enjoying a good work / life balance. It's good to dream big, but you have to ask yourself, is it worth it ?
  10. Didn't know you was a trained joiner / carpenter?
  11. No experience of relays, but I had a citroen c15 for 9 years, now have a berlingo multispace, which I've had for 7 years, absolutely love citroen, totally reliable. Apart from usual maintenance they have cost me next to nothing. Wouldn't hesitate in getting another. Incidentally my parents have 2 citroen cars, 1 is 14 years old which my dad uses and my mam buys a new one every 3 years.
  12. Do you ever go swimming in it. Something like that would be ideal for a bit of unwinding exercise at the end of a days work.
  13. Steve, if the app is now not available, what is the best way to view / get arbtalk on our tablets (Samsung), sorry for daft questions but I'm useless with stuff like this.
  14. So what do we have to do Steve, do we have to uninstall then reinstall?
  15. All photos until you enter the thread like ratman says.
  16. Its through the website Steve, as far as I'm aware. I've only got arbtalk on my laptop and tablet, not on my phone.
  17. Steve, I always view arbtalk on my Samsung tablet, just recently I have noticed that when I'm scrolling through the threads, I'm just seeing blank grey squares instead of photographs. Any ideas ?
  18. I would recommend stihl or nilfisk. I had a mid range stihl one for about 10 years before it died. Have used a few nilfisk ones and they are quite good.
  19. Out of curiosity, does anyone use something like a jimny instead of a mule / gator etc ?
  20. Been a crisp frost on ground all day, it's not got above -2 all day here in south Yorkshire.
  21. I know very little about road works, all I will say is that I know concrete lasts a lot longer than anything else, and I wont use anything else for driveways. I do like the look of them concrete sleepers as well.
  22. Cheers Barry, do stiga do a battery range ?
