  1. I have a cheap machine mart one that cost about £60, and for occasional use then it's fine, but if using one more frequently then opt for something much better.
  2. I've read a few comments on various things, all saying that fuel consumption has gone up using E10.
  3. That really does look the bees knees. Quite like the idea of building my own log cabin. Bet you could earn a fortune milling the logs for log cabins.
  4. What about buying a welfare van for the team. Carry plenty of kit, plenty of space to take proper breaks, running water, toilet facilities, mobile office etc, seems a no brainer and sensible choice to me.
  5. Can I just ask, why does it appear that no one operates or even rate jcb. I only use 1.5t diggers now and then, so haven't got that much experience, it just seems odd that there is little mention of jcb. Cheers.
  6. My first van was a Vauxhall HA van, 1275cc engine iirc, bloody loved that van. If I could have that van with the 1.9d engine from my old citroen c15, it would be unbeatable.
  7. This is what I mean spuddog, sometimes you have to look past the bare wages and look at the benefits. I work for the NHS as a maintenance joiner, the wages are crap, but the benefits more than make up for it.
  8. I think what people are not taking into account, is jobs like these you also get holiday pay, sick pay , pension and other benefits which can sometimes far outweigh the initial income.
  9. Any chance of some photos, showing how things are ?
  10. Haha love it. If I remember correctly the backrest on the rear seats was basically just a piece of material attached to a bar that went across the back.
  11. Bloody hell, I had a panda in the early 90's. It was only 2wd with the900cc fire engine. Loved that car, brilliant in snow, cross fields, it would go anywhere. Got rid after 3 years though as the thing wouldn't start in the wet, changed everything, but still wouldn't start on a morning if it had been raining.
  12. Is there much difference between the ea6100 and the ea5600@shavey
  13. This one gets me all the time, really winds me up. If I had had my way, all road works once started must be worked on until completion.
  14. That looks a really really nice saw.
  15. The makita ea4300, is a cracking little saw.
  16. Much prefer the proper dolmar orange.
  17. Used to do it all the time growing up as a kid. Started of with a starter kit, bought for me one xmas from my grandparents, they used to take me to bridlington on the harbour wall, then my dad used to take me mackerel fishing on holidays to Devon and Cornwall, used to spend all my holidays on the harbour walls fishing, was never interested in amusement arcades or owt. Joined a sea fishing club, doing wreck fishing out of whitby. Then grew out of it due to work etc. Did a bit of crabbing from harbour wall when my daughters were growing up, bought a cheap rod and reel but never did much. Have never tried beachcasting, but would give it a go if I had time, would also buy some gear for harbwalls again if I had the time. Also did the same as spud. Behind our house growing up was a cricket field, spent many an hour practising casting on there.
  18. The makita ea4300 is a brilliant little saw, easy to start, runs and cuts well, worth every penny.
  19. Hi mark, I've used 6mm marine ply. West system resin is what I'm using. I've just started on the resin stage, I did the inside of it yesterday. I still need to ring you about this table I'm making, so I will call you this week if that's ok. I've got projects on the go, left right and centre at the moment [emoji23][emoji23]. Cheers.
  20. Cheers [emoji106], I am. I'm really enjoying the build and cant wait to get it in the water, but I'm taking my time and doing some slight alterations to the design. One of them is the seating. In the original design it has fixed seating, but I'm making mine so the seat base lifts off to give me some covered storage.
  21. So what do you get back service wise from this ico organisation once you have paid your money.
  22. hi, just a quick up update, thouroghly enjoying the build process although rather slow process, due to other work related commitments. learning alot as i go, some mistakes made, some alterations being made and me being ott about how much glue etc im using. will definately be making some more, including different designs and also making my own oars.
  23. So, will it grow back or not ?
