  1. They do tip. It's a manual tip but they tip fairly easily. You just 'hoick' it up with the handles and it tips the buck over. You can get skip loader ramps too. I've used a muck truck and they are very handy for lots of logs in a back garden. Doing about 5 trips worth of hand balling in one load and you could nearly jog behind it! Super efficient. If I had the money to get one it'd be added to the squad but its getting it to site too which could mean another vehicle.
  2. It's done. Took about 4 and a half hours in all. Was all fairly straight forward. Ill take some pics tomorrow. Late series 1 will be 300tdi? What spec was it? If its high spec with leather seats and they're in good nick ill be interested. Although if they are leccy seats it'll be a problem. Take some pics and ill see if there's anything I can see I'd need/want if that's ok
  3. It's a discreet mount so looks as standard. Just with a bit of rope hanging out the front. Still need to trim the front bumper a touch to allow plenty room around the fair lead. I'd trimmed it but I had the winche sat about half an inch lower than it should so when its all been bolted up its higher. Took some during pictures but ill get some afters tomorrow!
  4. Still prefer the disco I never checked to see if it had scissors and a comb in the glovebox Added the winch I've had since feb today. Finally!
  5. I bought an isc rope grab from eBay that was pretty well used. It was that well used it had started to slip on the rope. I bought it for £10.50. I decided I wanted to get a new one so stuck it on eBay and it went for about £40+postage!!
  6. I get that with the sequoia. It's got two wide ish bands of elastic that can make your eyes water on a cold day!
  7. I know. But they are an option if he's struggling.
  8. Get as good as you can find for about £6-7k then spend the rest on a tipper conversion or body if its already converted. You get what you want then and don't have to settle
  9. Cheeky bugger! Ill have you know I've lost weight these past couple weeks. I tried one once but the leg loops were way too tight so it wasn't comfy. The back felt nice. I'm just wondering what exactly the difference between the v2 and lightweight are! They both seem exactly the same!
  10. I'm thinking if going for a new harness at some point in the near future. My sequoia has done me well however I'm starting to find it a bit small and cuts into me a bit at times. My next one I have decided will be a tree motion. However I'm looking at the tree motion v2 with the backpad and a few extra bits. Then there's the lightweight that looks exactly the same minus the backpad. Anybody have experience with the lighter one or know if its still any good? Is the extra 50 quid worth it for the 'full package' tree motion v2? Cheers!
  11. Balmers garden machinery
  12. If its a straight fell I'd be interested but at an agreed rate. Not climbing/dismantling it for free or even for cheap.
  13. I'm tempted to expand the hole in mine. Compared two ms150s today and mine is a bit picker on acceleration. Makes it nicer to use. Re tuning the carb: mine was set with the H screw fully anti clockwise. From what I remember on here turning the H screw anti clockwise richens it. It's already at full richness then it'll take a bit but don't want to make it lean where it can't be recovered!
  14. Typical cheap fence panels. They only just hold themselves together! I try not to sneeze near them just incase they fall apart from the shock! That didn't look like it was overhanging too much. Neighbours eh!
  15. Get stein to make it I suppose its one way to keep the boys cool. Watch you don't cut the straps with those hedge cutters
  16. That's all I have atm
  17. I shifted a load of long wet grass, which was being rained on at the same time. Across a flat area and down a banking. When dry its super easy to move grass. I had a br600 on loan and it did the job well!
  18. Dads got one of the new d max. Got it in January so was played to tow 3t. Will pull more quite well. Can is spacious although I think everything feels far away from you. Drives nice. A single cab tipper would be a nice Arb truck
  19. Defender was In getting an oil leak fixed under warranty so we had an evoque for a few days. It's just gone back. It was the sd4 which is top spec. I think I could love with one quite happily. It has sure got some legs for a diesel!
  20. Good luck rob. Don't eat too many biscuits now.
  21. I was strimming a huge grass banking again today. Glad I could wear combats and walking boots instead of saw gear. Drank 3 litres of water and I'm still a bit thirsty! It's a proper sun spot too. Not a dab of shade other than cower by the truck at lunch to get some. In saw gear for the rest of the week. Might turn my old hiflex into chainsaw shorts!
  22. The case is plastic but there's that big metal piston and cylinder. That weighs a fair bit so take that out. Put a plastic cranking handle on the side of the sprocket so you can still cut with it
  23. I've always used stihl full chisel. Had the odd Oregon chain but found it didn't hold its edge as long
  24. I did business at college. Sort of useful! Pete if your lad gets into games. There's more money there than trees!
