  1. Hs81r today at lunchtime. Clutch drum fell apart causing it to rev and not cut very much. Cue a lost half day finding a part and putting it all back together. Impromptu bench from the tailgate of the pickup to identify the part that broke!
  2. Could that be an issue of over richness? Causing unburnt fuel/oil to end up in the exhaust?
  3. Where did this 'a lot of them' come from? I have seen one or maybe two. Mines been fine. Don't drop it after cutting with and clip it up. Not exactly difficult
  4. These stories of 150t saws breaking and coming apart in places have to boil down to overly hard use and abusing them. They are plastic for weight saving. So why bash them around like they are made of steel?
  5. Looks like beech bark disease Cryptococcus fagisuga
  6. Two jobs done before 11.30. Lunch from the local buttie shop and ate it at the yard sat by the house. Done for 12! Nice easy Saturday!
  7. I was a size small hiflex and a small stretch air gives me plenty room!
  8. It's not too bad in the city centre. There are some scruffy areas where I saw stuff getting thrown at a group of white people. Where they seemed like the minority! Didn't want to stay stuck at traffic lights too long there! Been there and worked around quite a bit and its ok. It's like anywhere that has its bad areas and its good areas! You soon learn where to add enough money on the job to pay for a new saw just incase!
  9. Go early on in the day when the natives are asleep
  10. As long as you keep a set of spare wheels you can come to Liverpool
  11. 5mm has made a noticeable difference in cutting. More responsive and holds out a bit better in larger cuts
  12. How big was that hole? Mine was 5mm and although it doesn't sound hugely different you can tell there's a difference.
  13. Yeah it was. I'm only gonna use it occasionally so I hope it doesn't break too soon. I saw the dyneema ones but couldn't really afford them at the time!
  14. Line pull is about 8000lbs/4400kgs No. A Warn. Phone corrected it and I didn't realise.
  15. It's a warm m8000. With the solenoid on a wire so I could mount it away from the winch. On a wireless remote so no messing round plugging in. Just have to pop the bonnet and switch on the isolator.
  16. Trimmed up now. Time will tell if I've taken enough off!
  17. I've had these on my watch list for a while Would much rather the disco 4 though! http://bit.ly/ZZNnpC http://bit.ly/11zVDxG
  18. Friend of mine has a 560 and its good fun to use and similar speed to the 362 in my eyes. With it running the 325 chain it allows faster chain speed. Would like to see them both on a 20" 3/8" chain for comparison.
  19. I've had mine 18 months now. Stamped 2009 on the handle but sat in the shop that long! I pick it up all the time. Perfect balance of power to weight IMO. Wouldn't mind letting spud have a fettle with it! Not had a single issue with it. It's been worked hard so far this year too!
  20. Tdv6 has been done in a disco 1. That sure seemed impressive. Tdv8 would be even more awesome.
  21. Yeah I thought I had it but it wasnt quite properly lined up so when it was bolted its sat a bit higher. Just need half an hour to trim the metal off underneath and it'll be grand then!
  22. Your telling me! The bruise 2 days later. This wasnt its worst! No other pics though!
  23. Not had anything through the window but had this one fired at my leg by the stump grinder. Left a hell of a bruise! Right on my inner thigh.
  24. Took some pics today. Still need to trim that bumper. Angle grinder should do a good job of it!
  25. Looks a bit like Laetiporus to me too. It will be causing a cubical brown rot in the heartwood. A lighter shade of brown than its common competitor Fistulina and a more aggressive rot. Can cause failures due to its slightly more aggressive nature but oaks stand up to a lot!
