  1. Hi guys I'm after a climber for tomorrow to finish off some trees in eastham. Two oaks that need pruning. Can meet on site to make life easier in the morning. There's a good chance it will stretch to two days so please allocate two days to this booking. Please contact me on 07841128366 Cheers
  2. I was telling my mate about how the government plant surveillance devices in street equipment. "That's absolutely ridiculous," replied a lamppost.
  3. Is any of that oak going for business cards? Need to order another batch soon mike!
  4. You could just put a saddle on it
  5. They did a facelift which is what you see the most of. Its still being sold but rebadged as the np300.
  6. Your towing would still be 750kg max on post 97.
  7. It doesn't owe us anything. The exhaust broke a weld not so long ago (few weeks!) so that rattles a tad. It just doesn't have much power. It seems like a fuelling issue ie not getting enough. Drives alright empty. Drives well with a load on but with a trailer it is dire. Can barely pick itself up in 1st! Especially with weight in. If I had that trailer of logs on the Navara and not my disco it would have taken a while to get home!
  8. I wouldn't fit my flask in then though! I'm still toying with getting that Navara converted. Or build it myself! There's a landy 110 tipper on arbtrader catching my fancy currently!
  9. The chestnut in that trailer turned into about three loads like this. It was two full and a few part loads. Had to split all the logs and take them back to the customer. Doing them on site wasnt feasible.
  10. That's the one. We've had a good ten years each from two booms. Spraying all sorts. Chem wise and conditions wise. Mainly golf courses and football pitches but the odd overgrown patch of land that's up to the bonnet. And everything in between!
  11. I will sort out getting one made for a wrench tether. Good thing is varying colours
  12. my local parts dealer wont touch britpart, so they deal in bearmach or better, the only britpart stuff ive got is my springs and shocks, in lovely marigold yellow. i avoid them as the parts are cheap and i do believe buy cheap buy twice! bearmach seems to be good quality, not had an issue yet with anything
  13. looks very handy that ian, although the distance from the camera is an issue, cant figureout the steps properly
  14. Dads landy all finished ready for work. The boom came from a place in Scotland but was imported from Italy if that helps Tom. I can't remember the name now though! It was two words and I'd remember if it was said!
  15. I should have asked him today when I saw him, there are some good areas round here and especially into Lancashire. I had a play today and tried both top anchoring by using a bowline and steel carabiner on the rope at the top, found that took a bit of jiggling from the ground to make it orientate itself correctly. A couple of things that's puzzled me a bit is coming back in on branch walks, used to the rope moving being able to pull myself in but it's a bit tricky to get the hang of. Any special technique? Secondly when I was reaching my top point and ascending up past branches is it just easier to try and climb onto them or take smaller ascend steps to push past? It's a whole new set of techniques and having DRT pull me up with it helps but now the ropes not doing much and it's the tending slack that I'm having the biggest issue with. Doesn't seem as intuitive as DRT but its only my first day SRTing! Overall it's fantastically efficient on long ascents! Nice big steps means big height gains quickly. Got the perfect job for that at the end of this week. Next on the agenda, noticed my xtc+ has some slight glazing where I've done speedy lj/sj descents so looks like it'll be a backup rope soon. Which means I get a shiny new rope! Looks like it'll be Marlowe aeris or kernmaster, blaze I wasn't keen on for the sheer amount it milked and don't want the bounce of poison ivy or tachyon. The marlow seemed pretty good the other day when I had a go on it. Ill probably be doing more DRT till I'm used to the SRT but will try and change over a bit more! Ill gt that tcia book ordered too. Looks a useful one!
  16. I have trouble using tapatalk on the iPad. Constantly logging me out in between viewing threads. No issues at all on the iPhone.
  17. I can have a look around. There's a nice big estate near me but they are a bit difficult to agree to anything if it doesn't make them money! I know a local woodland owner that has a good range of trees and a fair size woodland and he would probably be quite happy for a meet up in his woods. Maybe if we felled a tree for him and logged it up he would most likely accept

Likewise dan Always good to meet fellow arbtalkers and gear junkies!
  19. I will ask Tom, we have two of them. The red one is still red, getting a bit tired now. The one that's now black was galvanised and had sat around for a few years. Used to have two trucks set up similar. The paint is holding up well. Give it a polish and it comes up a treat.

I took some having a play with my new wide angle lens
  21. It's set up permanently as a sprayer during march-October. Tom we've had the boom for a while. Easily over 10 years. Ill ask where he got it from.
  22. So the boom can be seen. It's not really practical to be at the back because it does a lot of towing. Years ago it was at The back on another vehicle but I can only vaguely remember that. I think that was a hilux with big silly tyres too.
  23. That is a very smart landy. I took a picture of it too! My dad kept getting stuck in his so has now attached a winch to the front. Had to modify the boom mount so it would accommodate the use of the winch. Turned out pretty well. I wired the winch in.
  24. It's a bit like subscribing to a page. You 'like' the page and then that pages posts like photos and videos will show up on your news feed (homepage) when you log in to Facebook. It's sort of like networking. You like a page and it will then suggest others similar and shows up who of your friends like it. There's no rewards really. Just gains popularity in the hope that a potential customer may see it and give you a call!
  25. One of these as part as a rope wrench tether would be pretty cool!
