  1. The diff lock light is served by a connection of two tiny wires on the transfer box. These may be broken or disconnected. Meaning you can select diff lock but it won't tell you! It could just be a dodgy dash bulb too. When you move the transfer box gearstick to the left to select diff lock it just moves a little lever to select it. As said before the linkage can come apart on these and is an easy fix. Egr valve delete on a 300tdi does make a difference. It has on mine. Just need a plate to block it off at the middle of the hose that leads into the inlet manifold. The kit can be had on eBay for a couple of quid.
  2. All those benefits for 2 pounds an hour?
  3. That's awesome. You should do the rest of the gang too!
  4. Extreme strimming part 2
  5. It's certainly interesting. The best part is, no public!
  6. You guys have it easy strimming a nice flat grass field! I was on a concrete bank yesterday. I felt like a spider in the bath. No grip at all! Had to make a floating anchor system so I could work on it. Its a coal wharf/terminal. They unloaded 6500 tons in 10 hours. The train comes in every morning to collect a load for fiddlers ferry. 21 wagons long, each one is 75 ton empty and holds 100 ton each.
  7. Hi guys Got a large oak to reduce in disley, Stockport next Tuesday. Asked people I know around there but not joy. I'm after a climber for the day. You can meet me on site. I can bring a chipper but I'm happy to hire a climber and chipper for the day. Paid on the day. Please contact me on 07841128366 Cheers
  8. I'm getting this too. Have been choosing the upload to tapatalk instead
  9. Since getting a new strimmer on 4 mix I run all out machines on stihl HP ultra. The green stuff. Much better fumes. Engines run well. A company also based on our yard uses the standard red oil and is constantly having 4 mix engines send pistons and con rods out the engines! I'd rather pay the extra couple of quid for the green stuff!
  10. Spent all week on the hedge cutters this week. My back was killing me by lunchtime. Used smaller cutters after Tuesday lunch!was in agony. One large site took 2 and a bit days. Found a wasp nest by raking in it and standing on it and a few of its residents which they weren't keen on. Look down to see wasps on my arm. Lucky for only two stings from a big nest! The landscaper from this site likes their bamboo. IMO not a great choice for shrub beds!
  11. Speak to a local engineering firm and ask them to build a mount. It needs a tray to sit in and has to fix to the chassis. You should be quite ok with 4-5000lb winch which are relatively small. Wiring needs some heavy duty cable. Wire straight to the earth on winch and battery and for live run it through a heavy duty isolator switch. 300A ones can be found on eBay. The cheap plastic ones run around 120A and won't stand a heavy load well. They are very simple to wire up. A wireless remote system is a godsend as you can be doing a back cut with the remote in your hand
  12. Its all you can see in the rear view morrow though!
  13. They use the same r380 box as the 300tdi which are decent boxes. If you start getting more power out the engine from remaps and other gibbons then be careful as they don't like too much power. I'd be investigating the history and find out if there's been any reoccurring problems or niggles. The landmark was quite high spec so there will be plenty toys on it. The third row seats are better suited to kids though!
  14. There's a lady near me who lives on her own and I've done a couple of jobs for her and will probably get a few more in the future. Could quite easily be taken advantage of by the wrong people but I don't think she will answer the door to just anyone
  15. Td5? Check the chassis is in good nick. Don't be afraid to stab it with a screwdriver! Engines are good strong ones. Make sure the air suspension if its got it is in good nick ie bags are good and it does what it should. Spring conversions are relatively simple and cheap if you get problems. As long as its been serviced well there shouldn't be an issue. You love it
  16. Doctor wood yew have a look at this please?
  17. So you've sat on it and are now saying its rubbish?
  18. There's new better more powerful versions of photoshop coming out once every year or two years. It's brilliant. Will never be old hat as nothing else is as good!
  19. I need a greedy board like that on the tailgate. Will make my life easier less trips to the tip site!
  20. Puma defenders don't have them. The oversized dash is in the way! The fans don't usually work too well in a defender so you need to create the airflow!
  21. Tyler
  22. The guy doing the filming was in my group at uni. He's now playing in Australia. Looks like he's having fun anyway!
  23. My plan was to get a 10" bar for mine and a 14" on the 200 then you can swap to a slightly bigger saw with a lot more cutting capacity. Ill eventually get round to it
  24. Speak to the guy selling the micro Arb truck. He's on here somewhere.
