    moving parts are not covered by Halfords and the ratchets do fail, as do the boxes the sets come with and frustratingly the boxes change from time to time, however at the discounted rate offered not a bad package

  10. Jake I find it hard to find time to take still pictures let alone plan and carry out filming! pictures of milling what would normally be scrap leylandii into a eventually green roof arbour but resting in the last picture as a pergola

  15. I have a number of burr birch, mulberry and other if you are interested, what sort of sizes are you looking for?
  16. look good in the vids but be careful get working demo or set up by supplier 1st. can be heavy on end of crane but in right situation a good bit of kit, other option is just the simple blade added to a grapple head and cuts as you close the grapple

I have found that the drying process tends to produce dramatic results http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/milling-forum/45162-anybody-milled-eucalyptus.html , I have not followed up on boards milled for a client some time ago but there must be a way of controlling it to produce usable wood / timber, huge amounts are produced and used around the world
  18. whenever I see big Elm it always reminds me of The Workshop of Tim Stead and his use of natural edge Elm boards, I think also of the huge amount that we dealt with in the late 70's and 80's in middle England

  22. yes late 60's 2nd intake, I think, a brilliant 2 years, fond memories of learning the ropes! filling / draining cavities, bracing with metal rods, forestry work though mainly, would love to go back and do it again, the mix of Stuart Bunce, (Clif)ford, Bill, oh and the man with the sheep dog, my memory is a little uugh, good interaction with Foxhole ! only know of a couple of others, good to see you still in tree work, Dartington was the best introduction to tree work and a lot more.
  23. Castrol Syntrans synthetic Transmission Fluid, in ours as well, the only oil change in anything where I have noticed the difference. your correct it is an investment!
