  1. Kveldssanger hello the only watering systems I saw were 'leaky pipe' over ground, up in the air sprinklers and the hanging bags, I did see a sort of sumping to contain ground/ surface water in a few places as in pic. below . Kingofthering I was visiting family temporarily working/living in Seoul
  2. all to brief a time spent few old friends revisited, and a new 1 or 2 found, easier to find with little foliage in the way, loads of wind pruning!
  3. Possibly the most unusual and controversial building to open in seoul recently the dongdaemun plaza designed by Zaha Hadid https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=seoul+dongdaemun+plaza&biw=1920&bih=963&site=webhp&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi7vb7yo_7JAhXGXBoKHfdwCyIQ_AUIBigB&dpr=1 plenty more info and images via search engines
  4. some of the spp. seen, identified by name labels on trees, Prunus yedoensis matsum Pinus densiflora short wide crowned Pinus koraiensis siebold I think the Scotts style Diospyros kaki thumb, persimmon fruit Celtis sinensis Styrax japonica Chionanthus retusa I try to find more later! people most polite and helpful, children always keen to try out their English language! and selfi to prove contact made! museum, palace and other school trips beware! transport bus good underground modern clean uncrowded both English announcement and visual on tele screen, most important unless you are proficient in Korean alphabet ! bus schedule and routes hard to find but ok when you have the correct numbers, people bow all the time, shops, restaurants, everywhere and you replicate, hard not to do when return home to amusement at times of recipient!
  5. leaf has early autumn look with outside edge 1/3rd brown similar in look to ours ( possible not Aesculus hippocastanum but close to it), the bull riding chap seems quite pleased to be there!
  6. more with staking detail, the bags hanging on the trees a watering and feeding system!
  7. yep even horse chestnut style trees affected here as ours! in my last picture on other post, some of planted trees are heavily braced and even braced to other trees, also trees are wrapped in hessian, I guess to help in summer heat and winter cold, bracing is often 4 bamboo poles wired together at the tree stem, the picture with the steel balls has laser light writing in the paving under and this reflect through out the structure at night.
  8. I include some images of above from a recent visit to Seoul, a city raised to the ground during the 1950 – 55 Korean war, hosting the summer Olympics in 1988 and the football world cup 2002, as a result of the above hardly any trees predate 1955, I saw 4 or 5 trees older than 60 years in 3 week visit! The city has tree lined roads with avenues of Pine, Prunus, Metasequoia, Ginkgo and Acer https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=seoul+autumn+colour&biw=1920&bih=963&site=webhp&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj7wpqnmvXJAhVEuxQKHSjuCpsQ_AUIBigB the autumn colour here is superb I guess all the planting here is by semi mature transplanting, there is evidence of this almost everywhere you go, there are areas of extreme modern architecture with sculpture and landscaped areas injected in between, this makes for some ‘film set’ style landscapes. tbc!
  9. I highly recommend Steve, good everything, service ,feedback, knowledge, good luck

  11. I know childish should know better
  12. disturbing incidence, when similar happened, with the brogio chain head http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/search.php?searchid=16043368 unfortunately with disastrous consequence, it ended with the head being banned by HSE, it is always a worrying situation when fast rotating parts get loose/ break, mowing, chipping, mulching especially when often in populated areas, I have broken the shaft and gearbox on a heavy duty strimmer with contact of mulching blade to immovable object but never had a blade break, I also think it is worth contacting supplier and manufacturer to enable them to identify cause and help prevent reoccurrence
  13. Eddie ever since watching this [ame] [/ame] a while ago I had thought it to be one of the ultimate machines your spec even better! respect to you I hope your investment / dream / Christmas present ( wrap that and put under the tree! ) works well for you, I can imagine you will need rams just for crowd watching and recording the machine working! all the best

  22. 912 ? do you mean 112 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/112_(emergency_telephone_number)
  23. The plumton course did not really cover much practical milling just cutting a couple of boards. We did get David Darnell to come out for a day to take us through all the set up and opperations of the mill, when he worked with Woodmizer. This was very informative and we recieved a certificate as proof of training. It may be worth contacting machine suppliers.
  24. Big J that's an impressive total there ! good luck with your replacement mill, I hope you are as impressed with the new one as you were with logmaster
