  1. schliesing do have an option to remote control the hand fed chipper, ours is wireless, with the obvious advantage of not having an operative poised by the stop and reset, they also do a dedicated crane fed version, the ZX Forst 550 ZX Forst | Schliesing ,John how are you getting on with the jenson, I see pics on here the other day and have always thought the crane fed one to be a good machine,
  2. pics schliesing, as with all crane feeding of chippers care not to over feed material into the hopper, the 550 has a good appetite but you can make slower progress by feeding to much to fast
  3. crane and hand feed ours most excellent machine, chip quality possibly a bit rough depending on what you want but through put very good, care needed with short fat cord type lengths as shark tooth upper roller tends to violently smack stick to upper hopper, you do not want to have your hand on or over stem at this time, push with next stem or push stick or with flat of hand
  4. crown reduction 25% fire

  6. not always same day got mog and trailer stuck on site! had to unload almost 18m3 chip by hand uugh

  8. Some things you never want to read on here but by sharing news of this tragic incident hopefully this post will make us all work that bit safer. My thoughts go out to all colleagues affected by this incident, family and friends of and especially you Sean heal well and fast fellow arborist.

  13. I've fallen foul of the last one a couple of times:001_huh: , both old and new
  14. We put non original belts on a 206 vermeer and they would not dissengage off the pulleys properly, and the cutter wheel would turn whenever the engine was running. Possibly check belt tonsion.
  15. would it be relevant to ask to be represented by say The Arboricultural Association for the Arb side of HSE, I remember they have a working relationship, in the past with climbing / mewps and more, from press re. FISA / FCA I think I would have more faith in the AA

  21. not the 1 in the pic but we were asked to supply Oak beam for mantle but before we could deliver the order was cancelled due to wood beam now in breach of building regs!
