  1. no probs, yep if they got that for 200 and poss a grant they have a good deal just the crane chipper and lorry let alone the putting it all together , I had a small play with it and was impressed cheers
  2. ed yes sorry i did not buy one! (perhaps a sunny day in anglesey!) they are good , musmax I have also heard not so good, lots of time with blades and sharpening etc.
  3. I think the hiezo chipper one from the apf is at anglian wood fuels now, I had a sit in it at apf to see operator position and recce crane controls etc it all seemed good, big chippers depend on what you want to do with them and where you want to take them, how able you are at keeping them going/sharp on site, I have witnessed a service truck c/w commpressed air and 3 operatives etc just keeping big bladed chipper running on site ie bruks erjo, there is an advantage in small bladed chippers in that with unwanted mud stones etc getting in with trunks and brush they seem to keep going longer and can chip albeit with reduced capacity when blunt , our hiezo hack will still process material even when completely blunt, this is an advantage in say site clearance situation.
  4. if you can find it I have an underfloor heated 4x4 see pic simon clarke photographic millbrook 2008 car 048 pic 0283

  11. tewkesbury a little far for me as well , but for larger jobs please contact me ref Welcome to Arbwork.co.uk cheers J
  12. if you have the space for 2 machines I have seen one of the larger co. based in southern england using a 2nd machine to feed the chipper this operation has advantages with visability and other logistics, you may have a forwarder or forwarding trailer with crane or 360 with loader , as with all the above if you are using a crane to feed a chipper built for hand feeding be careful! it is easy to put larger material in it than you can lift, extra strain on hopper and leverage as you are tempted to feed the chipper with the crane ie stuff through branchey materia can and will bend things you have a lot more power and leverage with a crane loading + 2nd is what or how do you cope with the stop go lever I suggest it is not the place to have a 3rd party standing to operate or over ride the stop go bar , is it acceptable to disconnect or over ride this? , I have seen this with some of the mid range hiezohacks, make shure you have a method statement and understanding with all on site, having said that I have seen both good and bad practice here and in Germany with large grab fed chippers being loaded by hand! cheers j
  13. oh yes and position of spout, crane and crane base always get in the way, vision wise, for the operator seeing where to put the brash into the hopper , poss roof mounted crane better vision, camera? to help although you soon get used to it, j
  14. I always consider a parellel motion crane to be best suited to chipper feeding , eg tp had a system a few years ago with crane mounted by the spout , the produce is presented direct to the hopper with this type of crane , normal crane if you streatch out to grab produce you spend time lifting main boom to get grappel up enough to present to hopper , I also think brush grapel with open tines lifts less mud & stones there fore less damage to knives . another thing is beware spout and crane , if you use only in one quadrant it is ok if you tyr to use 180 - 360 degrees you will trash spout, poss short spout option but beware ce safety etc. cheers j
  15. yep local council call out, Ash , split fork, blocked road, mid pm, included bark fork should have been seen, could have been prevented.
