  10. we have had this happen twice with husky bars recently, never with sthil and they have a lot more hours on them + sthil bars we dont grease
  11. reminds me of when we used to hang this beast of a seppi behind our 8000 when you lifted the linkage the tractor went down more than the flail went up, most interesting in wet ground conditions !

  18. yes as above dont, give up, smaller = less £ or even bush hog or swipe type cutters as on picture of afag doc. can produce good cutting capacity, most flail importers have machines in range for lighter applications, fae, ahwi, seppi, A T Osbourne do some,
  19. Mmm I try to not post anything to incriminating, as owner operator of the Ahwi mulcher we try to take care of and use machinery in a responsible and safe manor. I consider mulching material such as wood, tree roots and in fact any materials not to aggressive and or harmful to the flail teeth as acceptable, I have seen damage caused to flail teeth and rotors being used in stony conditions whilst mulching brash and small conifer crop which would seem to be ok but has caused a large amount of wear and damage. I think as long as we take into account the situation both of the material, the working environment and the method of applying the machinery to the target material that this is acceptable I have checked my operators manual and AFAG doc. and contacted the machinery importer with ref to your comments and consider our actions in mulching wood, albeit large, as not to be abusing the equipment.
  20. Our client asked us what it would do, we mulched normal stuff like rhododendron , roots etc. and were shown the heeps of oak, although I guess not cost effective in the world of increasing fire wood prices, it was a learning curve for owner, operator, and potential client, we are asked, and do, mulch rows of stumps extracted by clients not to dissimilar to the lump of wood shown, some of the arisings are incorporated in top soil and or lost on site, our last job with roots yesterday the mulchings are being used to make newt hotels in conjunction with cord wood and other materials found on site.
  21. Try before you buy, go see them working, compare swinging hammer with fixed tooth, what do you want to mulch? my experience swinging hammer v. good smaller produce inc. grasses & brittle stuff, elder thorn etc. and in situation where you may damage fixed tooth eg cast man holes rail lines other immovable solid objects, fixed tooth better and more aggressive for mulching trees roots other produce + cultivates ground better will pick up produce and mulch , call me if you wish I have both seppi swinging hammer and ahwi and yes they are 40k for the big ones even more now with exchange rates and newer models
  22. not a lunge in sight, tree now at size client wants for carving, anyone interested?
  23. this is the bit in real life!
  24. we use ladders for access into tree, not to work from . + folding step type of ladder in hedge cutting domestic situations, most not allowed on site now and need inspection / aproval to use
  25. Gives you a bit more info on location, thought it better not to take trailer this time!!
